The above-mentioned is what "Ann" said about her dentures. She had been annoyed since her wedding. She was afraid her husband would see her at night without a denture. Many females share Ann’s feelings. The round face, the fine waist, the wide pelvis, the big eyes, the silky hair, the beautiful smile, and the full breasts are considerable issues for adult females.
Tooth and gum problems are common, especially in cold habitats. The so-called "Seasonal Affective Disorder" partially results from a lack of exposure to sunlight during winter. Ultraviolet rays induce the formation of vitamin D3. 40% of Americans have some degree of vitamin D deficiency, and about 1 billion worldwide share the problem. [1]
While we are sleeping, we are not aware that our bodies live with an internal "orchestra" to sustain our health to an optimum level. So, vitamin D3, formed from sun exposure, regulates calcium ions present in dairy products to enter the blood. Vitamin K2 acts like the "street cop" to guide calcium where to precipitate. So, it orders to precipitate in bones and teeth and prevent its precipitation in blood vessel walls and kidneys. While Calcium does its function, Magnesium ions regulate calcium absorption from the intestine, and while our gum needs calcium to protect from the so-called " periodontal disease", it needs also need vitamins C and Iron ions to keep themselves tight, red, and capable of healing their wounds[2]
Despite the importance of evidence-based, peer-reviewed medicine and clinical trials, nations are not governed by jargon and tough rules. Many nations have remedies they have delivered through thousands of years. So, it is not strange to hear about green tea in China, Natto in Japan, oil pulling for mouth care in Asia, "Dit Da Jow" thick topical suspension for tendon injuries in China, and even in England rural areas, we may find a bride and groom visiting the Bees hives with a peculiar costume to participate the tradition of "telling the bees". Telling the bees, in their opinion, about their sad or happy Events may acquire the "blessings" for the coming future.[3]
Why vitamin D-K advice nowadays? The pandemic of SARS- Cov-2 breaks our daily habits. less visitation to gardens, exposure to sunlight, and less muscular exercise performance. That situation leaves the choice of dietary selection with possible vitamin supplementations, The latter is not welcomed by some schools, so our discussion will be on proper dietary choices.
Yet, it is important to refer to a small difference between human "bones" and "human teeth". Human bones once fissured, can be cast and healed to their original form. Human teeth once fissured, can not heal at all.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Diet recipes are sometimes needed, yet one of the common mistakes is to miss "environmental" factors in a nation's diet. The Eskimo nation eats many marine products in their "raw" form. When they tried to replace that tradition with the processed "bottles" exported, a horrible outbreak of the so-called "Scurvy" disease - due to vitamin C deficiency, occurred, and they were obliged to return back to "raw" sea products. [4]
In the same way, the Japanese eat " Natto"( look at the above picture ), which is a fermented soybean. Natto contains vitamin K2 6 times more than other foodstuffs. Vitamin K2 is mostly of animal origin, and many Japanese are vegetarians, hence Natto appears to be the best solution for them during morning breakfast.
In Libya, sheep meat is delicious. Among the possible reasons is the evergreen status of the province of " Green Mountain" in Eastern Libya. Most sheep do not need fodder since they eat the natural grass of the mountain. Libyan herders from outside the Green Mountain bring their sheep at a young age to the " Green Mountain" to eat grass contaminated by green " Diryas". "Diryas" is a toxic plant prevalent in the Libyan land. If sheep eat "Diryas" in its green form, they will be "vaccinated" against " Dry Diryas," which, if eaten for the first time by adult sheep, immediately die.
- As long as COVID-19 calls for "stay at home", how can we protect our gums and teeth from diseases despite the rarity of exercise and sun exposure? here I will try to answer: [5]
Among the "magic" foodstuffs are Sardin, Micrel, and Herring. They are rich in vitamin D3 and omega-3. Among the magic fruits are "olive" and watermelon. Among the magic vegetables is Broccoli. Among the common traditions to whiten the tooth is "the so-called 'oil pulling" and among the common remedies used as a systemic antibiotic is the oregano.[6]
Some Indians use sesame oil, coconut oil, or olive oil mixed with minced with crushed cloves. The mouth is filled with that mixture for 15 minutes, followed by spitting it out. They believe that this remedy whitens the teeth and stops cavity formation in teeth ( caries).
In the same way, some Chinese drink green tea mixed with ginger and fresh lemon juice. Ginger is proven to be of immunological benefit for humans, and green tea is said to decrease cardiovascular diseases.
Among the good reputation toothpastes is "Crest", and some brands contain both fluoride and nitrate. Some nations use hydrogen peroxide 2%, apple vinegar, and turmeric paste for the same purpose.
- But how can we alleviate a toothache with home remedies? Some use a "green tea bag", where a moist, heated green tea bag is put inside the mouth to cool. Salted warm water sometimes helps. In rare cases, the toothache is related to the so-called " trigeminal neuralgia," where the problem lies away from the oral cavity.
The classic hygienic advice for mouth health is twice daily toothpaste, flossing once daily, saltwater mouthwashes, and, sometimes, tongue scraping is required. quit alcohol and smoking, proper body weight, and muscular exercises
So, why do are we caring to rapidly deal with tooth and gum problems?early detection of "cavities" in a tooth requires just "filling". Yet, late detection may necessitate "debridement" before filling, which affects the skeleton of the tooth.
Another reason is negligence, which may lead to "periodontal disease". The importance of "periodontal disease" is that the early stages of it are curable with a simple maneuver called " scaling & root planning," while the late stages are difficult to treat since the bone sockets themselves are eroded. Also, late stages may lead to the extension of the periodontal disease.[7]
It is that moment when a person feels pain, swelling in the gum, and color change in the teeth, where he/she suspect periodontal disease and where conservative therapy ( analgesics - antibiotics) does not improve the condition. Dentists perform "scaling & planning" and may ask the patient to repeat it after 6 months.
The principle of "scaling & planning " is that chronic gum infection and tooth decay trigger the pathogenic mouth bacteria to manufacture the so-called " Biofilm". The "Biofilm" is a " Bacterial Fort" where body immunity can not recognize the bacteria and where antibiotics do not find a "way" to access the bacteria and kill them. What dentists do is: widen the gap between the gingiva and the teeth and pour topical antimicrobials in the " widened tunnel". In this way, the Biofilm is broken, and bacteria are killed. A good percentage of patients feel comfortable after one week of scaling and planning.[8]
The only problem in advanced periodontal disease is the "dissolution" of jawbones, where surgeons may require " bone graft" or " stem cell" infusions. Those late cases of periodontal disease are of guarded prognosis
Among the dramatic improvements in recent medicine is "Bionics". Bionics is a combination of our body physiology and artificial intelligence. Practically speaking, we have tooth implant Bionics, ear Cochlear implant Bionics, and eye Bionics in addition to "limb Bionics".[9]
In teeth Bionics, the dentist evaluates the medical status of the patient to decide if he/she is a suitable candidate or not. Even in suitable candidates, sometimes after implanting the "core" of the artificial tooth, the patient shows incompatibility signs, and the dentist stops the process.
In those whose bodies accept the dental core ( that takes several weeks to determine), the surgeon progresses to implant the artificial tooth, with the net result of complete power to masticate all types of food, better cosmetic appearance, and more self-esteem and confidence
Other ways to show " bright white" teeth are: Invisalign, Veneers, whitening strips, and chemical whitening.Celebrities mostly use "Veneers," where very thin white porcelain flakes are attached to the front teeth. That gives a fantastic smile, yet it has the drawback of a bad smell since bacteria accumulate behind the porcelain.
"Invisalign" is sometimes used to protect the enamel of teeth once a dentist suspects weakness in its structure.
Bones in our bodies are subject to diseases like Osteomalacia, Osteoporosis, and Rickets in children. Some researchers link face skin crinkling and the presence and degree of osteoporosis. If crinkling is more, Osteoporosis is more.
Gum recession from over teeth is an age-related problem. Mostly, the treatment is only to stop the process, but no treatment can return the receding gum to its original site.Osteomalacia is the early stages of bone weakness in adults; if it progresses, Osteoporosis occurs with possible sequelae upon the vertebral spine.Daily needs of vitamin D3 differ according to age and health status. Generally, pregnant, elderly have high daily needs. while pathologic states necessitate special therapy ( Rickets - Osteoporosis ).- The daily dose of vitamin K2 for adults is mostly constant except for those patients who receive anticoagulant therapy.
