I am making a series of sculptures with 3D prints of interiors of chambers of parliaments from different countries.
The job consists of making a 3D model of the interior of the chamber of the Italian parliament for a small 3D print:
- Italia has two houses of parliament. I am looking for the Chamber of Deputies which is the larger one and is based in Palazzo Montecitorio. I am NOT looking for Senate of the Republic.
- I need the interior of the building where the seats are, and not the building itself. The final shape has to look preferably like a cylinder. So imagine it as a cylinder that has a concaved shape in the middle, and that is where the concaved shape of the chamber floor exists.
- I do not need the ceiling. But it would be nice to have the windows around the chamber and the public seats present, however, it is not completely necessary. My focus is on the representative seats and the floor.
- The final size of the print is around 17cm in diameter. So do not dive much into details. However, our printer is quite accurate, so to make just boxes is not enough either. A general shape of all items will suffice. The aim is to quickly recognize the scene while looking at it.
For research material, I have attached a lot of photos. Plus the best way to have a look is through this virtual tour [login to view URL] you have to select the map and stand in the middle of the chamber floor.
I have attached photos from previous artworks, where I made the House of Commons from the UK and the Dutch Tweede Kamer. The level of details in this work is what I am looking for. It also gives you an idea about how the shape should look like when you put the chamber in a rectangle and take it out of the context of the building.
Remember, I am planning to build a series of artworks with these, so the winner gets to make at least around 10 more models for me.
