I'm looking for a design idea for our living room & kitchen. The culture is central european (Slovenia, Austria, southern Germany, northern Italy), but we'll definitely take a look at moderate proposals from other cultures.

Components to be included:
1. Kitchen furniture & appliances (mandatory: stove, fridge, oven, dishwasher, kitchen sink)
2. Dining table & chairs for 8 persons
3. Couch + club table
4. TV
5. Computer / small office desk

The task is dealing with rooms marked with 7 (kitchen) and 8 (living room). I have tinted all the other rooms in red. So only work with the blue rooms 7 & 8.
Room dimensions: 7: 305 x 560, 8: 385 x 615. Map is oriented with north to the top.

I have marked points of interest with letters from A to H going top to down.

A: On the other side of wall to the utility room, there's a chimney. Just in case you want to add a fireplace
B: This wall contains plumbing (it is not mandatory that you place the sink here). On the other side ther's (4) utility room with hot water, etc
C: This wall is made of hollow brick, but there is no reinforcements above it, so if you'd tear it down, plan another column.
D: Right where the letter is, there's an additional thin wall stretching 60cm into the kitchen. Currently it's intended to finish up the furniture & host a couple of power switches.
E: This is a reinforced concrete column. Essential for structural integrity, leave alone
F: This is a window, going from 85 to 220cm height. Beneath it there's a heating radiator
G: This is a panoramic full-size window with exit to the terrace. It's actually two pieses, not three as drawn. Goes from floor to 220cm height
H: These are windows, going from 85 to 220cm height. Beneath it there's a heating radiator, starting at 80 cm from (2) room to 90 cm from (8) room

Windows have wooden frames and 100% transparent glass.

There are no pictures intentionally: we'd like fresh ideas. The task is to draw up a design idea. Nothing too precise, just what could be done to make it great for living. We have no pets, but do still have a young child (6). Preference is (slightly) utility over design.

The winner (any maybe a couple runner-ups) may get further work drawing up more detailed designs.

Is there a similar trend on Freelancer? Is it not the responsibility of the freelancer to stop such bogus content? Contest holder chose an unrealistic design by ignoring such decent designs.

  island kitchen is a good suggestion. Door can be moved, though only to the south (main breaker box is on the wall to the north)

To everybody submitting floor plans: We've already done all the possible practical floor plans ourselves. What we're looing at are furniture combinations, colours, combinations with plants or framed / wall paintings.
