I need an ORIGINAL illustration for a science fiction novel. The final file should be 1,563 pixels by 2,500 pixels and will NOT include a title or author information (I will add these myself later).

Here's what I have in mind, but feel free to improvise in terms of positioning of elements:

The entire image will have a black space backdrop with stars. In the foreground will be three of the main characters from the story. I have attached rough images I created using a character creation tool in a computer game just to give a general idea of age, hair, eyes, etc. Please feel free to make small changes. The clothing does not have to be the same as in the images. Clothing should look futuristic, but not be a formal uniform or overly-sexualised. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE ACTUAL IMAGES ON THE COVER AS I DON'T OWN THE COPYRIGHT FOR THEM, they are just a guide.

I would like character 1 in the centre (the female character in her 40s), with character 2 (the black male in his 50s) to the right and character 3 (the white male in his 20s) to the left. These portraits could be slightly opaque to allow us to see more of the background. They should be at the bottom of the image.

In the centre of the image I would like a depiction of the spaceship featured in my novel. I ran this contest several years ago when I first began work on the novel. I have attached an image of the winning ship design, which I own the copyright for, so please feel free to use that image or modify it, or just be inspired by it. The ship doesn't have to look exactly like this, but please read my description of it. It is the last image whose name starts with 55. The name on the ship is Curiosity

It is an out-of-date research/science vessel which has seen better days. It should look big enough to hold around 10 crew members and have a cockpit/bridge/command deck, and room for an engine room, small science lab, medical bay, living quarters, recreational lounge. The exterior of the ship could include browns and rusty reds, but go with what you feel is right here. It needs to look old and with damaged hull plates. There are NO weapons on the exterior of the ship, but some scientific instruments, such as a satellite dish and perhaps a small laser to take samples from asteroids, etc. The ship also has search lights attached to the front. The ship is being fired on -- an energy beam is tearing across the image from the top right down to hit the ship, with obvious damage to the area hit. This energy beam should be a greeny-yellow colour.

A description of the ship from a rough draft of the novel is attached below.

I have attached a very rough sketch I did myself based on the description in my novel, but please do not feel constrained by this. I'm not a visual artist and I want you to come up with a shape and design which is memorable and unique.

There is the possibility of further work for anyone who can come up with a great starship model and is able to produce schematics and various views of the ship for inclusion on my website or the interior of the book.

I have also attached some images of ships I found online, but please remember not to copy these exactly because I do not own the copyright for them. Also, even if some of the images feature ships with weapons, it is important to my story that the ship featured does not have any weapons.

My illustrations is 100% originals and created by me and my clients. As i told you, the key to a beautiful and functional Artwork is the cooperation between the artist and his clients.

      I was referring to the characters. As I have explained on this board, the image of the ship is from a previous contest I held and for which I paid. I am the copyright holder for that image and have said it is okay to use it or modify it.

    With the greatest respect, I don't think some of you understand that this is for a book cover for a novel that's been written. You can't just make up characters, ships and settings. That's useless to me. It needs to reflect my story. If I wanted face tattoos, a fleet of ships or a planet in the background, I'd ask for that.

    Hi again. Pls ask all designer to put the source link of their images that used on the cover. That way you avoid to have difficulties with copyright. This is a basic rule in design and sign of respect for others work. Regards!

    Hello, i think all the work posted here contain stock images. This is the reason that i posted an mixed art work (photomanipulation and 3d Daz elements) for your cover. The stock images used on the cover have link to the source (adobe stock photos library) and have copyright. In case you like my work and choose my cover as winner i will buy those images to make the high resolution cover for print (i have payed monthly subscription for the images). Regards!

    I'm being strict now in rejecting entries by people who haven't read the description. If you can't even make the characters the race I have asked for or the ship looks nothing like the images and description I've posted then I have no time for it, sorry.

      Sorry, but you are wrong. I dind't take artworks from google and paste them into the cover. I took a lot of different pictures (with no copyrights issues) and I mix them all. For example, I merge three different faces to make the young character. Regards.
