  I'm leaning toward a design that will not go all the way to the ceiling, as it throws off the centering of the can lights. That said, if it goes up to within a foot of the ceiling it would be good. I think a centered design MIGHT work if very narrow pullouts (preferably narrow laterals not more than 12") flanked the desk on each side. Again something in the shelving needs to reference the desk without being overly stylized. Remember that the niche wall will remain yellow.

  So far, the submissions are not meeting the brief. The desk in the picture will remain. Clips from the internet are not acceptable. I'm looking for thoughtful and creative ways to blend the niche with the rest of the office and increase storage and book shelving at the same time. It must exude functional and visual harmony.

     Dear Contest Holder, the desk is very beautiful. I tried to look online for the dimension but could not find it. Is it custom made? Having a rough dimension of the whole office space including the ceiling height would help us to design better.
