I am...I have designed everything from Helicopter Maintenance facilities, to Medical Office Buildings and even the Nevada County Prison. I have designed with steel, concrete, wood and masonry. I have taught Seismic Analysis for the Corps of Engineers. I have been performing Structural Engineering work for 30 years. I am always interested in working on challenging projects and I like doing things correctly. I'm not really interested in cutting corners, but there is no reason to over design above and beyond the building code. We have good solid building codes which protects the public from damage. I think it is my responsibility, as a Structural Engineer, to the public to build safe buildings, but I have a responsibility to the client / employer to do it in a manner that is effecient, easy to build and cost effective. Specialties: I am now running my own Structural Engineering practice. Yay!...and OMG. I am thrilled to be able to interact closely with my clients, and serve them in a more efficient and creative manner. I am doing much more residential, but still manage to work on a variety of commercial projects. The freedom is wonderful, the hours are ridiculous. Life is good. mai puțin
