I have a very specific idea I need a mechanically minded designer's help with. I play an inventor character in a Curse of Strahd D&D game and want to design a room sized clockwork mechanism, where the hammer of the clock would instead be a wooden stake used on Strahd the vampire to make sure he stays dead. As long as someone keeps the mechanism wound, its only function is to count down to 20 days, then re-stake the vampire in his coffin in the center of the room.
