ePub, short for electronic publication, is a file format saved in .epub, an open XML-based format for digital publications and books. Files on the ePub format allows for the storage of words, images, CSS resources, and other Web content. Its goal is to create a standard format for distribution and interchange within the digital publishing industry.
With the advancements in digital technology, the role of ePub have become increasingly important in digital publishing. Compared to PDF’s, a similar and equally common format for electronic books, ePubs are becoming more and more preferred due to its readability. PDF’s have fixed formatting which means it can never fit well on all types of screen. We have thirty Word documents of Bible text that is divided into Books, Chapters, Sections and Verses. We use separate Word docx files because Word struggles with very long documents.
