I'm seeking an expert to help design a culvert and gravel driveway in a floodplain for a residential project (single home access). I am currently under contract on a parcel of land in Cabarrus County North Carolina. It will need an engineered culvert and gravel driveway design to cross a creek (20 feet wide). It is in a 100 yr flood zone. Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning said we will need a Floodplain Development Permit and I'm told that needs to include a flood study. The goal of the analysis is to estimate the force required to cause yielding or failure when a load is applied at the center of the lid panel.
