A repaired STL can look flawless on screen and still blow apart during burnout. The mesh never shows a trapped void, the kiln does. I'd close every hole and gap first, then check specifically for any fully enclosed void left behind by the repair itself, not just the model's original geometry, and simplify the mesh without softening the fine edges the cast actually needs to hold, keeping wall thickness within what lost wax casting can reliably burn out and pour. Would losing a casting to a hidden void cost more in wasted metal than the few extra minutes it takes to check for one now?....
