The episode's strongest moment is often the worst Short. It depends on the setup around it. So the Shorts get built, not pulled. The moment gets found by watching the episode as a viewer, not as a podcast editor. If a bit needs 30 seconds of setup to work, it isn't a Short. Long form and Shorts also run on different languages. Long form is subtle zooms and burned-in subtitles. Shorts are dynamic captions and B-roll. Style the Shorts like the podcast and they read as podcast on Reels, which is the format that performs worst there. And if auto subtitles get burned in, names and technical terms can't be fixed after render. A quick pass on the SRT before burn in catches them. Should the Shorts mostly come from guest moments, or from the host's own takes?
