I need a self-contained agent that links to the Robinhood API, watches U.S. equities in real time, and places day-trade buy and sell orders for me without manual input. Core scope • Connect securely to my Robinhood account (OAuth or token, no credential hard-coding). • Accept my list of tickers and predefined entry/exit rules (I’ll supply the logic or indicators; you focus on execution). • Monitor live quotes, place market or limit orders instantly, and confirm fills. • Run continuously during market hours, log every action, and alert me on success or failure. • Provide a simple config file or GUI where I can toggle symbols, position size, max trades per day, and trading hours. Implementation notes Python is preferred because of the existing robin_stocks and alpaca-trade-api wrappers, but I’m open to another language if it shortens maintenance. Please structure the code so I can later bolt on stop-loss, technical analysis, or crypto modules without rewriting the core executor. Deliverables 1. Fully commented source code with virtual-env or requirements.txt. 2. Read-me covering setup, environment variables, and how to switch between paper and live mode. 3. A short screen-share demo showing at least two successful paper trades. Acceptance criteria The script must log in, detect price moves, place the instructed buy and sell orders on Robinhood’s paper account, and write a timestamped trade log that matches the account’s order history.

A Warm Hello! We are readily available to start working on this project! We are a software development agency with strong experience in Python automation, financial APIs, real-time data processing, order-execution systems, and modular trading infrastructure. Your project is a good fit for our team, particularly because the goal is to build a clean execution engine that can begin with paper trading and later accommodate additional strategies and risk-management modules. We will build a self-contained Python-based trading agent with a clear separation between: Market Data → Strategy/Rules → Risk Checks → Order Executor → Broker → Trade Log/Alerts Our team can start promptly and provide the initial technical architecture and implementation plan before development. We will prioritize reliability, observability, and maintainability so that the resulting agent can serve as a foundation for your future trading modules rather than being a one-off script. Best Regards, Ana

Hi — Elias here from Miami. I see you're looking to develop a day-trading automation script for the Robinhood API. The main goal is to create a reliable tool that can monitor U.S. equities in real time, which is crucial for effective trading. What usually matters most here is ensuring the system handles real-time data efficiently while remaining robust against API rate limits. A common issue in systems like this is managing state effectively under high data throughput. The tricky part is ensuring the automation logic adapts without losing performance or reliability. My approach would involve designing a modular architecture that isolates data retrieval, processing, and trading execution. This ensures maintainability and makes future enhancements easier, such as adding new strategies or integrating more data sources. I’ve worked on similar projects involving financial APIs and real-time data processing, giving me insight into potential pitfalls and how to navigate them. A few questions to better understand the scope: Q1 – What specific user roles and permissions do you envision for accessing trading functionalities? Q2 – Are there particular trading strategies or algorithms you plan to implement? Q3 – How do you foresee handling scenarios where the API may experience downtime? Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi there, I understand you need a secure, automated day-trading script for the Robinhood API. My proposed approach is to develop a lightweight, self-contained agent in Python for its robust API and data libraries. The solution will feature secure OAuth authentication without hardcoded credentials, real-time equity monitoring via WebSockets or streaming endpoints, and a configurable trading logic engine to execute buy/sell orders automatically based on your defined parameters. The architecture will prioritize reliability and clean separation of data fetching, decision logic, and order execution modules. Best Regards, Khorshed Alam, RS Software

Hi there, I have extensive experience building backend services, API integrations, and algorithmic trading execution modules, and I am interested in helping you automate your Robinhood day-trading workflow. I understand that this project requires a reliable, self-contained agent that connects securely via OAuth or token authentication, monitors live U.S. equities, executes market and limit orders instantly, and logs every action without manual intervention. I can support you by structuring the codebase cleanly in Python using established libraries like robin_stocks or alpaca-trade-api, ensuring secure environment variable management, and designing the architecture so you can easily bolt on stop-loss logic, technical indicators, or crypto modules later without rewriting the core executor. I will also provide a comprehensive README covering setup, paper versus live trading switches, and a screen-share demo showing successful paper execution. I propose starting with a clear implementation plan focused on reliable order execution and detailed timestamped logging. Let's discuss your entry and exit rules to get this running smoothly.

Hi, I will build your day trading agent in Python using token authentication so your credentials stay safe in local environment variables. The script will read your list of tickers and predefined rules from a simple config file, track live quotes during market hours, and place market or limit orders through the official execution path while writing a timestamped log for every action. I will structure the code in clean modules so you can easily add stop loss logic or crypto trading later without touching the core executor. For your peace of mind during development, I will set up the script to run against a paper account first so we can verify fills match the order history. You will also get a requirements file and a clear read me document explaining how to switch between paper and live modes and how to set your max trades per day. As an extra step, I will add a telegram notification hook so you get instant alerts on your phone whenever a trade succeeds or fails. Would you like the config file to be a simple json format or a yaml file for easier editing? Best, Salma Noreen

Hi, I am a software engineer with over 16 years of experience building reliable Python automation, API integrations, real-time monitoring services, and production-grade systems. I can develop a self-contained trading agent with secure environment-based authentication, configurable tickers and risk limits, order/fill tracking, timestamped audit logs, alerts, and a modular execution layer that can later support stop-loss, indicators, or crypto without reworking the core. I will include clean, commented source code, requirements and setup documentation, paper/live safety controls, and a screen-share demonstration of two successful paper trades. I will also build in safeguards for duplicate orders, rejected or partial fills, API interruptions, trading-hour limits, and restart recovery. One point to confirm: Robinhood does not provide the same official paper-trading workflow as Alpaca, while robin_stocks relies on unofficial Robinhood endpoints. Should the acceptance demo use Alpaca paper trading with a pluggable Robinhood execution adapter, or do you already have access to a Robinhood paper/sandbox account? Please contact me to discuss the rules, alert channel, hosting environment, and account/API constraints.

Hi, I can help you get a self-contained Robinhood trading agent that watches U.S. equities and places buy and sell orders from your rules. I have worked with API integrations and automation. I have 8+ years of experience in web development and am familiar with modern web technologies, frameworks like Python, robin_stocks, and REST APIs, and other tools. Previously i have work on auto trading for META TRADER 5 SCRIPT. The agent will connect to Robinhood securely, read your tickers and entry/exit rules from a config, monitor live quotes, and place market or limit orders. It will run during market hours, confirm fills, log every action, alert you, and support paper or live mode. I will keep the executor separate so you can add stop-loss, technical analysis, or crypto later. I can start right away.

Hello, I hope you're doing well. I can build the Python executor with OAuth, live quote handling, order confirmation, timestamped logs, and paper/live configuration. I’d keep the strategy separate from execution so stop-loss modules can be added later. I’d start by validating Robinhood’s current paper-trading API, then structure the service around asyncio, environment variables, and clear risk limits. Happy to compare notes on paper mode and order-history matching. Thank you, mohamed Fazeem

Hi, I've built Python automation that runs continuously, connects to third party APIs with token based auth, and logs every action with timestamped output, on a DevOps integration contract for a client. Adil Upwork: 5 star, $7475 earned, Python integration work The part I'd lock down first is the executor and order lifecycle. Fills on Robinhood are not instant, so I'd treat every order as a state machine (submitted, partial, filled, rejected) and reconcile against the account's order history rather than assuming a market order clears. That keeps your trade log matching the account exactly, which is your acceptance criteria. Quick question: do you want the config as a plain file first, with a GUI added later, or GUI from day one? I'd start on the paper mode executor so you only release on the two working paper trades. Adil

Hi! This is squarely in our wheelhouse — a clean, extensible execution agent with proper config separation and a modular architecture is exactly the kind of work we build well. Before I finalize the scope, I need to understand how your entry/exit logic is currently expressed: indicator thresholds, a multi-condition ruleset, or pseudocode you'd hand us? This changes how we design the strategy interface — whether a config-driven rule engine or a pluggable Python class where you drop in your own logic. The second takes more upfront work but means you never touch the executor when strategy changes. On how we'd build it: Python is the right call. We'd separate the broker layer (auth, order routing, fill confirmation) from the market data loop and the strategy evaluator — so adding stop-loss or TA modules later is plugging into defined interfaces, not touching core execution code. Auth via environment variables with token refresh, no credentials in source. Config covers tickers, position sizing, max daily trades, and a paper/live toggle. Logging timestamped and append-only, easy to cross-reference against Robinhood's order history. For alerts: email, webhook, or Telegram? Robinhood's rate limits on real-time quotes are worth keeping in mind — we'd flag anything relevant before going live. Looking forward to working through the scope details here. Hello!, I am a Florida-based senior software engineer, and this project is exactly the kind of thing I take seriously: a real-time Robinhood trading agent that is reliable, precise, and built with risk in mind. The main pain point here is not just connecting to an API, but making sure the bot can watch U.S. equities in real time, react correctly to market conditions, and execute logic without becoming fragile. I’d handle it in clear phases: 1) confirm the exact trading rules, 2) build the Robinhood OAuth/API connection and live market watcher, 3) implement the strategy engine with safeguards, and 4) add logging, error handling, and paper-test validation before anything live. I’ve built automation and algorithmic systems before, and I pay attention to the details others usually skip, especially around edge cases, session handling, and failure recovery. A few quick questions: 1) What exact signals should trigger a trade, and do you want hard stops or trailing stops? 2) Should this run only during market hours, or also pre-market and after-hours? 3) Do you want a simple self-contained script, or a modular system that can be extended later? Relevant work: - Real-time stock alert engine for a small prop-trading team - Python market-monitoring bot with OAuth-based brokerage integration - Trade signal automation tool for a private investing dashboard If you want someone who will build this cleanly and not just “make it work once,” I’m ready to dig in. -James

Hi, We would structure this as a modular Python trading executor, keeping strategy logic completely separate from broker execution so stop-loss, indicators, crypto, or additional brokers can be added later without changing the core. For minimum effort and budget, we recommend Python + SQLite + a config file + single-process service initially. GUI, cloud database, and microservices can be added later without changing the core architecture. Technical approach: Python + broker SDK/API adapter layer for Robinhood/paper execution. OAuth/token-based authentication with credentials stored only in environment variables or a secure .env/secret store. WebSocket/streaming market-data listener where supported; otherwise use the broker's lowest-latency quote endpoint. Strategy module receives normalised price/indicator events, and returns BUY/SELL/HOLD signals. Execution engine handles order validation, position sizing, market/limit orders, fill confirmation, retries and duplicate-order protection. YAML/JSON configuration for symbols, trading window, position size, daily trade limit and paper/live mode. SQLite initially for timestamped orders, fills, errors and execution logs—avoiding unnecessary database infrastructure. Structured logging plus email/Telegram alerts for failures and completed trades. Scheduler/session manager handles market hours and graceful shutdown. We will first test using paper/sandbox with simulated price triggers. Best, Raman, Founder.

Hello, I can build the Python-based trading executor around your predefined entry/exit rules, with secure authentication, real-time market monitoring, order execution, fill confirmation, logging, alerts, and configurable risk/trading limits. I’ll keep the architecture modular so stop-loss, technical indicators, and additional trading modules can be added later without changing the core execution layer. You’ll receive the complete commented source code, requirements/virtual environment setup, configuration file, setup documentation, and a screen-share demo using the supported paper/sandbox environment. Before starting, I’d like to confirm which Robinhood API/paper-trading environment you’re currently using, since that determines the exact authentication and order-execution approach.

i’ve done very similar recently with Python trading executors, real-time market data, broker APIs, order-state handling, and timestamped trade logs. I’d keep the execution engine separate from strategy logic so stop-losses or new indicators can be added later without touching order handling. Which Robinhood API access method are you already using, and do you have a supported paper-trading environment available? Should market orders and limit orders use separate execution rules or the same interface? I’d add idempotent order handling and fill reconciliation, which prevents duplicate orders after API retries. I’d also keep paper/live mode behind configuration, so testing cannot accidentally reach live funds. I’ll build authentication and config first, then quote monitoring, signal execution, fill confirmation, alerts, and logging. Finally, I’ll run two paper trades, verify them against order history, and provide the README and requirements file. Best, Dev S.

Hi, I can build the trading executor as a self-contained Python service with secure account authentication, real-time market-data handling, configurable entry/exit rules, order submission, fill confirmation, logging, and alerts. I’d separate the execution engine from the strategy layer so your current rules can be plugged in without coupling them to broker logic, while keeping the architecture ready for future stop-loss, technical-analysis, and additional asset modules. Configuration for symbols, position sizing, trade limits, and trading hours can be managed through environment/config files, with clear safeguards around duplicate orders, connection failures, rejected orders, and unexpected broker responses. Question 1: Does your Robinhood setup provide access to the specific trading/API endpoints required for order execution and real-time market data, or should the implementation use an approved supported integration where available? Question 2: For paper trading, what exact entry/exit rule format will you provide, and should the executor support multiple independent strategies or one configurable strategy in the first version? Regards, Houssame.
