Hello It is very easy project. If you want to use LCD display it is very easy and I am experienced with it. If you want to use 7 segment display I will suggest you to use IC 74HC595. If you use this IC you can control many 7 segment display as you wants. As in the picture you attached I see there is 6 digit 7 segment display. So I think if you use this IC it is perfect for you.
