Arduino reading absolute encoder RS485

Depending on the Encoder, and what was purchased from AliExpress, it should be relatively simple to get the encoder talking to your Arduino. As I'm based in NZ, I should be able to help you relatively quickly and cost effectively and get you a simple sketch up and running so you can get your project up and running in no time.

Just in case you will not find anybody who can help you locally, I may try to help you with it remotely, using a TeamViewer. The most probable reason why it doesn't work is the wrong connection and I can check it remotely. But I would like to see a photo of your connection and also the code first. Hey there, I can teach you and offer remote support and debugging for successfully read the encoder and send the data over serial. There are a lot of other details to be discussed the description is pretty vague, but I'm sure I can guide you to make it work whatever you end goal of the application is. I have made a lot of projects with atmel, ti`s, cypress, microchip controllers. As for encoders I have used a lot of models including optical, magnetic or mechanical/electric for front panel control interfaces. I have worked at multiple electronics manufacturing plants in electronics engineering/testing including r&d.
