Digital Comic pitchs

Imagine that you are pitching an original digital story to a potential investor or Kickstarter audience. This digital story can be built in any platform and should look towards the future by drawing on social networks, interactivity, gameplay, virtual reality, or augmented reality as appropriate. Think about a medium you already love (like movies, animation, books, comics, or games) and how you might design a digital story that stretches the medium in the same way the comics we looked at in this module's discussion push at comics and our ideas of what comics can be. You'll be using Prezi to build a digital comic introducing your story and pitch. Your Prezi digital comic should consist of approximately 20-25 frames that pitch your concept. These can include original images, inspiration images, and text. Your digital story concept will be evaluated on: Originality of story, voice, and characters. Based on the exercises we've done this semester on developing your voice and narrative, include a compelling ptich of your specific story and characters. Demonstrate your voice in the pitch: I recommend reading "Creating an Irresistible Elevator Pitch (Links to an external site.)" for ideas of how to do that effectively and quickly. (2 points) Meaningful Innovative Interactivity. Your pitch should clearly tie your story to an interactive experience that relies on that platform: think of the examples from interactive comics, virtual reality, and augmented reality we've looked at this unit for inspiration. (2 points) Use of art and imagery. Using a combination of your sketches or art and diagrams with existing art from inspirations and influences, provide a clear idea of what your digital story will feel like. Your Prezi should be well-organized with a compelling visual metaphor. (2 points) Concept of platform and medium. Be clear about what existing, future, or imagined technologies your story relies on, and how it will use those platforms to create interactivity and immersion. (2 points) Clear audience. How will your content go "viral" or reach an audience? What aspects of your digital story will particularly appeal to fans of memes or work well for passing around social networks? (2 points) Submit a link to your Prezi and remember to make sure it is set to public or that you provide the shareable link (see the Prezi tutorial).
