The Position: The position requires excellent story writing and editing skills, the ability to meet deadlines, to accept and incorporate feedback from editors and adjust the writing style to meet the requirements of the game. Writers should be able to write original, intense and eye-catching romance stories with interesting protagonists and love interests, dramatic conflicts and compelling plot points. Usually, each story is 15-20 chapters long, with 2500-4000 words per chapter. The stories will be dialogue-driven, choice-based and written in a format that is similar to the screenplay. (There will be formatting guidelines and writing templates provided). Previously writing experience is preferred, especially if you have published stories online. Hi! I’m actually pretty new to freelancer.com, and this is my first job bid—I’m sure there are way more bids with verified tags and the sort… BUT here’s the thing. This job is absolutely perfect for me. As a writer of over 6 years, I have written an unpublished fantasy romance book. I have also written 300+ short stories and articles, and am currently developing my own blog. I have experience in nearly every genre of fiction. I can write just about anything, and have the ability to make it stuck-to-the-book engaging (or in this case, stuck-to-the-screen). All that aside, I have used interactive story apps—like Episode, Choices and more—for 4+ years, and I’m absolutely obsessed with them. I absolutely LOVE the concept of interactive stories and how they’re a step further from just reliving a story through a character’s eyes—because we ARE the character.
