Hello, this is Mohand, a structural engineer with experience in residential reinforcement, accessibility upgrades, and detailed construction solutions. I understand the importance of providing a safe, durable support system for a veteran who may use a wheelchair, and I can design a reinforcement solution that works with your existing tiled shower base. I can develop stainless-steel bracket details that improve load capacity and stiffness while remaining compatible with the tile and waterproofing system. The design will consider point loads from a wheelchair, connection to the surrounding structure, and constructability within the existing shower space. I will provide clear shop drawings, installation notes, and material specifications so the brackets can be fabricated and installed with confidence. If helpful, I can also coordinate with your contractor to ensure the solution integrates cleanly with the current base and finishes.

Hello, I have experience with residential structural reinforcement, bathroom framing, tiled shower assemblies, and stainless-steel support details. I am a good fit for this project because I can assess the existing floor and shower base for higher wheelchair point loads and develop a reinforcement solution that improves support without compromising the finished tile system. I will review the current framing, shower base construction, access conditions, and expected design loads, then detail stainless-steel brackets and any supplemental blocking or framing needed below the base. I will keep the reinforcement compatible with the existing tiled assembly and clearly show bracket locations, fastening, load transfer, and installation notes. I can also prepare a simple drawing package for the contractor so the work can be installed accurately and safely. Thanks for reading my proposal. Edwin

The first check is the complete load path below the tiled base. Stainless brackets will only help if they transfer the concentrated loads into sound joists/supports; a concrete base also adds dead load that needs checking before it is selected. I am a mechanical engineer with a civil-engineering double major, working in structural analysis and detailed CAD. I can support your installer remotely with a reinforcement design package based on verified site dimensions and loading, while preserving the tile/waterproofing assembly. For CAD 600, I propose: review of photos and framing information; a load schedule agreed with you; checks of the supporting members, bracket/connection demands and deflection; and one selected reinforcement arrangement with dimensioned CAD details, materials/fastener schedule and a concise calculation note. I would identify required site checks and avoid assuming anchors can rely on tile or an unidentified substrate. One review round is included, with a 7-day target after complete information. Please send the shower dimensions, underside/framing photos, joist spans/spacing/material, proposed total design load and whether access from below is possible. Is your request for design/drawings for your installer? My bid covers remote CAD and analysis, not installation or fabrication. Any permit or locally required engineering review/sign-off would need your Ontario professional before construction. Best regards, Gokay

I have completed similar mechanical CAD and structural-support design tasks, and I can develop a stainless-steel bracket solution to reinforce the existing tiled shower base. With extensive years of experience in mechanical design, load analysis and CAD modeling. Proposed Approach Review the shower base, floor framing and existing support conditions. Assess the expected point loads and load-transfer path. Develop stainless-steel reinforcement brackets suited to the available space. Detail bracket dimensions, fixing locations and connection requirements. Consider tile compatibility, waterproofing and practical installation access. Prepare drawings and installation guidance for review. Deliverables You’ll receive a proposed reinforcement layout, 3D CAD model, dimensioned fabrication drawings, stainless-steel material specifications, connection details and installation recommendations. The design will be developed around the existing shower configuration and the required load conditions. Because this is a safety-critical application involving a potentially wheelchair-accessible shower, the existing floor structure, waterproofing and support capacity must be inspected, and the final reinforcement should be verified by a qualified local structural professional before installation. Please share photos, shower-base dimensions, floor framing details and any available load or support information so I can assess the scope and recommend a suitable solution.

Hi there, we have recently completed a similar project involving high-load tiled floor reinforcement and would love to share some references. For a heavy point load like an overweight user or wheelchair, standard tiled shower bases risk cracking the substrate or waterproofing seal without solid subfloor distribution. We will design and install custom stainless steel under-mount support brackets engineered to distribute concentrated loads directly to the floor joists, keeping your tiled finish completely intact. This ensures long-term structural integrity, prevents water leaks, and avoids costly future repairs. Here is how we would approach it: Assess existing floor joist layout and sub-base depth beneath the tiled surface. Custom-fabricate heavy-gauge stainless steel brackets tailored to your exact load profile. Install support framing from below to reinforce the base without disrupting tiles. Test load distribution and seal all access points to maintain waterproofing integrity. While we might be newer to Freelancer, we bring 9+ years of experience delivering this kind of work off-platform and multiple 5-star reviews to back it up. I would be happy to offer a quick, no-obligation consultation to chat through structural layout options for your shower base, even if you decide not to hire us. Kind regards, Alexia

To ensure safe and effective support for the shower base, adding stainless steel reinforcement brackets is crucial, especially given the high point loads expected from a potential wheelchair user. My experience with shower bases and tile installations positions me well to execute this task with precision. I will assess the existing structure to choose the optimal reinforcement technique, ensuring the solution remains compatible with the tile finish. Using high-quality stainless steel will prevent corrosion and ensure longevity. As a first milestone, I suggest a detailed evaluation of the current base and a proposed plan for bracket placement, allowing for your review before proceeding. This approach will provide the necessary support while maintaining the integrity of the existing installation. Junaid
