I’m building a reference library of speed-related CAN frames for several Japanese and German makes and need your help collecting clean data. The task is straightforward: hook up to the OBD-II/CAN bus of the specified cars, drive (or roll) them at known speeds, and deliver logs that clearly identify the correct CAN ID, payload bytes, scaling and formula for vehicle speed. Target brands/models Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Mazda passenger vehicles—any recent model year is acceptable. Required speed points Stationary, 10 km/h, 20 km/h, 40 km/h and 60 km/h. If an exact speed is tricky to maintain, capture additional points so the right pattern can still be verified. Deliverables • Raw CAN log for each brand at every speed point (DBC, CSV or BLF preferred) • A short note per vehicle stating the confirmed CAN ID, byte order, scaling factor and final speed formula • Screenshot or short clip proving the dashboard speed for at least one run (phone video is fine) Acceptance criteria The decoded value must track the cluster speed within ±1 km/h at all recorded points when replayed in SavvyCAN, CANalyzer or a similar tool. If you already have some of these logs in your archive, let me know; I’m happy to purchase existing, verifiable data to save time for any model

Hello, Your project requires reliable, replayable CAN captures that identify vehicle-speed frames across Japanese and German vehicles, with dashboard correlation and clear decoding formulas. The key challenge is producing clean evidence that remains within ±1 km/h during replay. I would organize each capture by vehicle, speed point, timestamp, CAN ID, payload, and conditions, then analyze byte order, scaling, offsets, and repeatability using SavvyCAN or compatible tooling. I would provide raw logs, concise decoding notes, and dashboard proof for representative runs. Similar work includes vehicle-data analysis, CAN signal extraction, protocol reverse engineering, and structured datasets for embedded and automotive applications. I can also validate any existing archive logs against the requested acceptance criteria before including them. Within 7 days, I can deliver the first verified milestone covering the available vehicles and a repeatable capture and validation format for the remaining makes. All files will be clearly named, documented, and ready for replay and review. Best regards, Bohdan

⚡ I HANDLE THIS TYPE OF WORK REALLY WELL. I have just developed a CAN data capture system for several vehicle brands, focusing on accuracy and reliability. You need clean data for various speeds that accurately reflects the vehicle's speed in the logs. I can connect to the OBD-II/CAN bus and ensure you're capturing the right CAN ID, payload bytes, and scaling formula. It's easy to overlook the importance of consistent data logging while driving, but I’ll make sure that’s covered. I will keep everything clear and simple, without burying you in technical nonsense. REACH OUT, LET'S SEE IF WE ARE A GOOD FIT. Regards, Stefan.

Hello, The hidden challenge here is not merely collecting CAN traffic, it is proving that the selected speed signal remains correct across replay, scaling, byte order, and real dashboard readings. I can help organize a clean capture and validation workflow for the specified Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, and Mazda vehicles, documenting stationary, 10, 20, 40, and 60 km/h runs with raw logs, confirmed CAN IDs, payload interpretation, formulas, and dashboard evidence. I’ll use structured Data Processing to compare candidate signals, apply Analytics to verify the ±1 km/h acceptance threshold, and can account for Artificial Intelligence-assisted pattern review where useful. YouTube-style short evidence clips can also be prepared for easy review. I’ve shared an initial estimate based on your description, and once we go over a few technical or functional details, I’ll confirm the exact cost and delivery schedule. I suggest beginning with the available vehicle list and capture hardware, then validating one representative model before expanding the library. Which exact vehicle models, model years, and CAN interface or logger formats are available for the first capture batch? Best regards, Asad Which exact vehicle models, model years, and CAN interface or logger formats are currently available for the first capture batch? Should the library prioritize one verified vehicle per brand, or multiple models within each brand? Will you provide access to the vehicles a

Hi there, I read your project details and can help with capturing and decoding vehicle speed data from the CAN bus. I have experience working with CAN interfaces and tools such as SocketCAN, PCAN, Kvaser, and Vector hardware, and with logging tools like python-can, CANalyzer, and SavvyCAN. For this job, I would connect to the bus via the OBD-II port or a direct tap, capture the raw traffic, and isolate the frame carrying vehicle speed. I would then confirm the arbitration ID, byte position, scaling factor, and units by comparing captured values against the dashboard speedometer or GPS speed. My process is simple. I start by confirming the vehicle make, model, and year, the bus speed (typically 500 kbps or 250 kbps), and the hardware you plan to use. I then record logs at several known speeds, including idle, steady cruising, and acceleration, and analyse them to find the speed signal reliably. If a DBC file or manufacturer documentation is available, I will use it to cross-check my findings. If not, I will reverse engineer the signal directly from the captured data. You will receive the raw capture logs (.asc, .blf, or .csv), a short document listing the CAN ID, bit layout, and conversion formula, and a working script or DBC entry that reads and displays live speed.

Hello, I am Ryan from San Francisco. The stationary, 10, 20, 40 and 60 km/h points you listed each need their own logged pass, since speed frames often shift scaling near zero and again past highway range. Getting that full spread per vehicle is what lets the ±1 km/h check hold up when you replay the logs later in SavvyCAN, not just on the run I capture it on. For each make I will log raw CAN traffic through the speed points, confirm the decoded value against the dashboard reading, then write out the CAN ID, byte order, scaling factor and formula so it drops straight into your reference library without re-deriving anything. Logs will be in CSV so they open cleanly in SavvyCAN or CANalyzer on your end. Best, Ryan

I see the challenge in collecting accurate CAN data for these vehicles. Getting precise speed points is crucial. If the data isn’t clean, it could lead to unreliable references later on. I can hook up to the OBD-II/CAN bus for each specified make and model. I’ll drive them at the required speeds, ensuring I capture the right CAN ID and payload details. My focus will be on delivering logs that meet your standards, so you can rely on them for your reference library. I understand the need for revisions until you're satisfied with the final data. I'd love to know more about how many vehicles you want to test and if you have specific models in mind. Also, do you have a preferred tool for capturing the logs?

Hi, how are you? I understand you need to build a reference library of speed-related CAN frames for Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, and Mazda passenger vehicles, capturing logs at stationary, 10, 20, 40, and 60 km/h, with extra points if exact speeds are hard to hold, and delivering raw CAN logs per brand and speed point in DBC, CSV, or BLF, a short note per vehicle confirming the CAN ID, byte order, scaling factor, and speed formula, plus a screenshot or phone clip showing dashboard speed for at least one run. The decoded value must track cluster speed within plus or minus 1 km/h when replayed in SavvyCAN, CANalyzer, or similar. I have experience with OBD-II and CAN bus data capture, frame decoding, and scaling verification, and I work with SavvyCAN for replay validation. I served as CAN Bus Data Engineer on a Vehicle Speed Frame Capture Project, logging speed frames across multiple makes, decoding CAN IDs, byte order, and scaling, and validating against cluster speed in SavvyCAN, and as Automotive Data Analyst on a CAN Signal Reference Library, building verified logs and formulas across European and Japanese vehicles with DBC and CSV deliverables. Do you have a preference between DBC, CSV, or BLF, and do you already hold logs for any of these brands? I'm ready to start work immediately. Best Regards

Greetings, I have over 10 years of experience in embedded systems, including automotive-related firmware, CAN communication and low-level protocol debugging. I've also worked on data acquisition and hardware interfaces where accurate signal decoding and verification were important. The main challenge here is identifying the actual vehicle-speed CAN frame rather than relying on standard OBD-II speed data. I can help analyze raw CAN logs, identify the correct IDs, determine byte order and scaling, and validate the results using SavvyCAN. For each vehicle with existing logs, I estimate 2–4 hours for initial analysis and verification, depending on the data quality. Do you already have raw CAN captures for these vehicles, or do you require someone who can physically access and test all seven brands? Sincerely, Oleksandr

Hello, I hope you're doing well. I can help collect and validate CAN speed frames, with logs prepared for SavvyCAN and a clear speed formula. I’d capture stationary and rolling data, compare payload changes with cluster speed, then document CAN ID, byte order, and scaling. A phone video can support verification. Could we confirm which vehicle models and CAN interface are available before starting? Thank you, Kurniati

Hi, We can help collect and organize speed-related CAN frames for the requested vehicle makes, with raw logs tied to known dashboard speed points. We would capture stationary, 10, 20, 40 and 60 km/h samples where practical, then compare the candidate CAN values against the cluster reading. Each vehicle’s delivery would include the raw log, confirmed CAN ID, byte order, scaling and speed formula, plus dashboard evidence for a representative run. The data can be prepared in CSV, DBC or BLF format where supported and checked for replay accuracy in a suitable CAN analysis tool. We can also review any existing verifiable logs that may reduce the collection time. Kind regards, Maximillion Onico Digital
