Hello, I'm very interested in this project. I have a few questions: 1. When you say application needs to control step motors, what does it mean? Do you have a dedicated hardware with step motor driver/controller? How do you communicate with that hardware? Do you issue commands to control (serial?) 2. Similarly for the IO ports, how do you interface with the computer. (don't get me wrong, we can work on this as well, I just want to understand what you are using, or plan to use?) I would suggest to start with some platform independent solution. Does this app need UI interface, and what would it be used for?
