I'm seeking experienced journalists to support a classroom simulation focused on public communication strategies during a public health emergency. The Scenario The simulation begins during an extreme heat event that is placing unusual strain on the regional electrical grid. The new, AI-ready data-center campus remains online, but nearby communities begin experiencing rolling outages. As conditions deteriorate, a residential district loses air conditioning, water pressure falls, local businesses lose refrigerated inventory, and a neighborhood health clinic begins transferring patients and temperature-sensitive medicines as its backup systems weaken. Several residents require treatment for heat-related illness. The facts are incomplete. It is unclear whether the data center, the regional utility, automated load-management systems, operating constraints, or a combination of factors contributed to the severity of the disruption. Nevertheless, a compelling public narrative spreads rapidly: “The data center stayed online while our community went dark.” Leaders must act before technical certainty is available. Ideal Skills & Experience: - Background in journalism or crisis communication - Experience in educational program development - Ability to ask pointed/challenging questions to develop the learning experience for participants - Tech/Investigative background Looking for journalists who can attend in person, from 11am to 2:30pm on Friday, October 2, 2026 in Los Angeles, CA

Hi, Diego Vinicius here from Brazil. I understand the need for experienced journalists to support a classroom simulation focused on public communication strategies during a public health emergency. The challenge lies in creating a realistic scenario that challenges participants to think critically and respond effectively to evolving situations. My approach would involve creating a dynamic and immersive simulation that prompts participants to ask pointed questions, analyze complex information, and make decisions under pressure. I prioritize transparency, accuracy, and the development of practical skills that can be applied in real-world scenarios. I would love to discuss how we can work together to develop a compelling and educational experience for the participants.
