I am looking for someone experienced in Gephi and network analysis to create a clear, publication-quality actor network visualisation for a PhD research project. The dataset contains 15 households and approximately 20–25 nodes per household, including human, technological, material, environmental and infrastructural actors. The network is based on coded energy journals, with actor frequency represented by node weight and relationships between actors represented by edge weight. I need support with: Importing and structuring the node and edge data in Gephi Creating an appropriate network layout and visualisation Applying node size/colour based on attributes such as frequency and actor type Producing a clear, academically appropriate final visualisation Ideally, providing the Gephi project/file so I can reproduce or modify the analysis Experience with academic network analysis, Actor-Network Theory (ANT), or qualitative network data would be an advantage. Please include examples of relevant Gephi/network visualisations you have produced.

==== Hi - Albert here ==== “PUBLICATION-QUALITY ACTOR NETWORK VISUALISATION” — you need a clear, academically appropriate network map that communicates relationships across human, technological, material, environmental, and infrastructural actors. I’d structure the node and edge tables, validate IDs and weights, then use Gephi layouts such as ForceAtlas2 with controlled node sizing by frequency and consistent colours by actor type. I’d refine labels, spacing, and edge visibility to keep the graph readable across 15 household networks, then deliver export-ready visuals and the editable Gephi project. I don’t have verified Gephi examples to claim, but I can demonstrate the workflow using a sample of your dataset. Would you prefer one combined network for all households or separate visualisations for each household? Looking forward to work with you

I can organize the supplied node and edge data in Gephi, validate the required attributes, and create a clear actor-network visualization suitable for academic review. I would configure node size from frequency, use consistent colours for actor types, select a layout that preserves readability, and provide the editable Gephi project together with the exported final visualization. I would first confirm the data structure and whether relationships are directed or weighted, then share an initial version for feedback before finalizing the styling. The proposed delivery is 4 days, including one revision cycle. Please share a sample of the node and edge files, any preferred output format, and whether one combined network or separate household views are required.

EVEN IF YOU DON'T HIRE ME, YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH A FREE CONSULTATION. You're building a publication-quality actor network visualisation from 15 households of coded energy journal data, where node weight represents actor frequency and edge weight captures relationships. The hard parts are structuring qualitative network data correctly in Gephi and producing an academically rigorous layout that makes actor interactions clear. Here's how I'd approach it: - Import your node and edge data, validate the structure, and organise actors by type and frequency - Build an appropriate layout algorithm, then apply size and colour encoding based on your attributes - Refine the visualisation for publication standards and export the Gephi project file for your reproducibility My data visualisation work for a FinTech company demonstrates experience with designing clear, insights-driven visuals that prioritise both usability and data integrity. I've also completed multiple automation and database projects requiring structured data handling. Let's discuss your research goals and data structure in a free consultation so I can give you a precise approach. Kind regards, Cornelius

Hi! With 15 households at 20-25 nodes each you are around 350 nodes, and at that size the usual failure is the layout, not the data. Force Atlas 2 with default settings on a densely coded network produces the hairball everyone recognises: visually busy, academically useless, because no structure is readable. What fixes it is unglamorous — LinLog mode to separate communities, prevent-overlap on, gravity tuned down, and node scaling that is not linear, since one actor appearing forty times should not be forty times the diameter of one appearing once. The second decision is one-network-or-fifteen. A single graph of all households answers "which actor types recur across cases"; per-household graphs answer "how does this household's configuration work", which is usually the ANT-relevant question. They need different layouts, and it is cheaper to decide before styling than after. On examples: my portfolio here is empty, so instead of links, send me the node and edge data for one household. I will return that visualisation plus the Gephi file, free, and you will see the layout choices and whether the output suits your thesis style. One question: is the final figure going into a printed thesis, a journal with a width limit, or a presentation? That decides label strategy — print at column width usually means labelling only the hubs and putting the rest in a table.

Hi, For this PhD network, the priority is not simply generating a dense graph—it is making the relationships among human, technological, material, environmental, and infrastructural actors readable enough for academic interpretation and publication. I would first structure the node and edge tables carefully, verify frequency and relationship weights, then build the Gephi network using an appropriate layout and encode actor type through colour and frequency through node size while keeping labels and edge weights visually controlled. I would also preserve the underlying attributes and deliver the Gephi project so you can reproduce, adjust, or extend the analysis later. My background supports data structuring and analytical visualisation, although I do not want to invent previous Gephi portfolio examples that are not included in my profile. If you share one household’s sample node/edge data, I can use that structure to define the visual approach before applying it consistently across the full dataset. Thanks, Novak.

Most network visualizations size nodes by one attribute and call it done, when what actually matters here is the dual encoding, frequency by size and actor type by color simultaneously, since Actor-Network Theory specifically treats human and non-human actors as equally significant, and the visualization needs to communicate that theoretical stance visually, not just show connections. I'd import and structure your 15 households' node and edge data first, applying a layout that keeps each household's network legible on its own while still showing the broader actor relationships. Node size mapped to frequency, color coded by actor type, human, technological, material, environmental, infrastructural, so the visual hierarchy reflects your coding scheme directly. Final output delivered as a publication-quality visualization alongside the editable Gephi project file so you can reproduce or adjust the analysis independently. Is the coded dataset ready to share now, so the import and structuring can start today??

Hello! I would be happy to assist with preparing the participant and connection tables for your research and creating a network visualization. I am currently mastering Gephi, so I suggest first preparing a small demonstration version using a subset of your data. This will allow you to evaluate the layout, readability, and alignment with your research objectives before we agree on the full scope of work. I plan to verify participant IDs and attributes, and configure node sizes based on frequency, colors by category, and edge thickness by weight. I will confirm the final set of files and the timeline after reviewing the source tables and completing a test import. I do not yet have a portfolio of Gephi projects, so I invite you to assess my capabilities based on the demonstration sample.

I can produce the publication-quality actor network visualisation for your 15-household study and deliver it in a form you can keep editing in Gephi. What you get: 1. A cleaned node and edge table built from your data: node id, label, household, actor type (human, technological, material, environmental, infrastructural), plus edge type and weight if present. 2. A Gephi project file (.gephi) and a .gexf export with layout applied (ForceAtlas2 or a layout that suits your reading of the network), nodes coloured by actor type, sized by degree or another attribute you choose, and clear labelling that stays legible at print size. 3. High-resolution PNG and vector PDF/SVG exports of the full network and, if useful, one small-multiples figure showing each household separately for comparison. 4. A one-page methods note (layout, colour mapping, sizing, any filtering) that you can paste into the thesis so the figure is reproducible. I need your dataset in any tabular form (Excel, CSV) or an existing Gephi file, plus a sentence on what the figure should emphasise (for example, which actor types bridge households). First draft within 48 hours of receiving the data, one revision round included. Question: do you want one combined network or per-household figures, or both?

Hi, I have a Statistics degree and build data visualisations with code, so a clean, reproducible actor network is a good fit for me. Plan: - Structure your coded journal data into proper node and edge tables (Id, Label, actor type, household, frequency / Source, Target, Weight), and check for duplicate actors and inconsistent labels first - Import into Gephi and use a force-directed layout (ForceAtlas2) with overlap prevention, so households and actor clusters stay readable - Node size = frequency, node colour = actor type (human / technological / material / environmental / infrastructural), edge thickness = relationship weight, with a colour-blind-safe palette - Export high-resolution PNG + vector SVG/PDF suitable for the thesis and journal submission, plus a legend You also get the .gephi project file and the cleaned CSVs so you can reproduce or adjust it yourself. If useful, I can produce one combined network and per-household small multiples for comparison. Question: would you prefer one aggregated network across all 15 households, or separate views per household? Best, Yusuf
