Our medical clinic needs to incorporate CSV data from a Health Information Exchange into our workflow. SFTP should be used to get the data twice a day, usually less than 20 records each time, which need to be added to a MS-SQL database, and a report generated in printable, readable format, and printed to our document server.
Use Secure File Transfer Protocol (as implemented by Microsoft) to grab a CSV file from a remote server twice a day. You would need to investigate and use WinSCP or install some Powershell modules to automate a Powershell script to use SFTP with the Task Manager ([login to view URL]). Then use SQL commands in Powershell to add the CSV data to a SQL database that you would design around the CSV columns. Then generate a one page report for each record added, and print the report to a specific printer, or put a PDF file of the report in an upload directory, to get the report into our document management system ([login to view URL]). We’re not married to this scheme, but we do want the data in a database for future research.
