Hello, We are currently building a Drone prototype. This prototype should be able to fly for 90 minutes with a payload of 5 kilograms. For this reason, we have 72 individual battery cells on board. We need to be able to monitor these 72 cells during the flight. The 72 cells are divided into 6 batteries. For this, we need a telemetry system that measures the voltage of the individual cells and sends them to a laptop on the ground. The voltage of the cells ranges from 2.4 V - 4.5 V. The system on the drone should be as light as possible. The range of the telemetry should be about 1 KM. You are welcome to use an Arduino or a raspberry (or something else of your choice). This is what we expect from you: - A way to measure the voltage of the 72 cells and send them via radio to the ground. - A software which can display the voltage of the 72 cells. (Preferably on Windows) - The measured data should be saved for later viewing in a graph. The whole system is used in a prototype. So it doesn't have to be perfect! I drew a draft of what the software might look like. The individual columns can change color depending on the voltage. An alarm can be triggered if the voltage falls below a certain level. Hello , how are you ? Hope all is fine ! Regarding your project , I have worked on a similar project of a Robot Chassis and it did have a battery monitoring section, though smaller cells were used. I used custom made GUI for the whole application , it was built for Windows using VC++ (MFC) . I could let you see samples of my work on my youtube channel and you can go through my portfolio. I will recommend the wireless transceivers in case you have not decided about that and I also have no problem dealing with any target MCU of ur choice according to ur BOM cost. ============================================================================ ============================================================================ I have long experience with 8-bit , 16-bit and 32-bit micro-controllers. I work with Microchip (PIC) , Atmel (AVR , SAM) , ST (STM) , TI (MSP) and NXP (LPC) micro-controllers. I use KEIL IDE , Atmel Studio , Code Composer Studio and MPLABX IDE . I deliver tested , neat and well-commented code that can be reused or modified for future development. I also have long experience with PCB design. I have worked with low-speed , high-speed and power boards. I use Altium Designer and Eagle, and I deliver neat layout that conforms to your dimension constraints and the manufacturing constraints. I've had experience in the past with battery management for a smaller robot, but for this project is take a different approach: I'd use a low power micro controller with analogue multiplexers (so you can read all of the cells at once) and then log all of the data to an SD card for later use. This would all be on a custom designed PCB to make it robust.
