I’m developing a power bank whose two non-negotiable strengths are high capacity and true fast-charging performance. The unit will mainly top-up smartphones, so efficiency at the 5 V–20 V range matters more . I need a complete design package, looking on using Texas Instruments chips. The bank should expose 1 USB-A and 2 USB-C output ports (bidirectional)( 100W power output); USB-C Power Delivery and Qualcomm QC compatibility are welcome provided they don’t compromise overall capacity or ramp up BOM costs unreasonably. The board needs to have headers connectors as well. It will be connected to an Lilygo ESP32-S3 dev board for monitoring. Please base the electronics around readily available components, specify all ICs, and include thermal considerations, safety certifications (UN 38.3, CE, FCC) and an estimated runtime chart for a typical 4 000 mAh phone. Acceptance criteria • Schematic, PCB layout (Gerber + BOM) • Available to develop the software if necessary

Hi there, I carefully reviewed your power-bank requirements, including high-capacity operation, 5–20 V fast charging, dual bidirectional USB-C ports, USB-A output, up to 100 W power delivery, TI-based power electronics, and monitoring through a LilyGO ESP32-S3 board. I am a mechatronics engineer with almost half a decade of experience in electronics design, SMPS and LDO power supplies, embedded systems, USB interfaces, multilayer PCB layout, hardware prototyping, and power-management circuitry using Altium Designer. This background is directly relevant to the DC-DC conversion, battery protection, USB power paths, thermal design, monitoring interfaces, and manufacturable PCB required for this project. Because power electronics, embedded hardware, USB interfacing, and PCB design are already part of my core skillset, I can approach the architecture efficiently while keeping component availability, efficiency, thermal performance, safety, and BOM cost in focus. Please send me a message so we can discuss the project and start. Best regards, Samuel tshibangu

Hi, I’m a senior electronics engineer with over 10 years of experience in power electronics, multi-layer PCB design, and embedded firmware development, having delivered designs involving DC-DC converters, battery management, USB interfaces, and microcontroller-based monitoring. My focus is on power efficiency, thermal reliability, component availability, and manufacturing-ready hardware. My approach: ✅ I will define the battery architecture, cell configuration, capacity, and power budget for 100W USB-C PD operation. ✅ I will design the power stages using suitable TI battery-management, buck-boost, and USB-C PD controller ICs, including protection, current sensing, and thermal management. ✅ I will develop the schematic and optimized PCB layout, including USB-A/QC, dual bidirectional USB-C, ESP32-S3 monitoring headers, and production-ready BOM/Gerbers. ✅ I will evaluate charging efficiency, thermal performance, runtime for a 4,000 mAh smartphone, and applicable UN 38.3, CE, and FCC compliance requirements. Questions: ✅ What battery chemistry, cell format, and target capacity (Wh or mAh) do you prefer? ✅ Should the 100W USB-C output be available from a single port, or shared across multiple ports? ✅ Do you require simultaneous charging and discharging, with USB-C PD input power specified? ✅ Do you have a preferred enclosure size or maximum BOM cost? Best, Yaroslav

Hi, I’ve reviewed your requirements. I can design the complete power-bank electronics around TI components, with the main focus on efficient 5–20 V conversion, USB-C PD, 100 W output capability, battery safety and thermal performance. I can handle: • Battery/power-path architecture and protection • 1× USB-A + 2× bidirectional USB-C • USB-C PD and QC where practical • TI IC selection with available, cost-effective components • ESP32-S3 monitoring interfaces and headers • Schematic and PCB layout • BOM and Gerber production files • Thermal/power-loss analysis and runtime estimation For the 100 W output, I’ll pay particular attention to MOSFETs, inductors, connector ratings, copper paths and thermal management so the design remains practical rather than just meeting the electrical specification. Please confirm the planned battery chemistry/cell configuration, total capacity and desired maximum charging input power. This will allow me to define the power architecture correctly from the beginning. I can also support the ESP32-S3 monitoring firmware if required.

Hello, I am a Full Stack Engineer and PCB Designer with 10 years of experience, providing power electronics, USB-C PD, battery management, fast-charging circuits, ESP32, and multilayer PCB design. In my opinion, I would build the power architecture around reliable Texas Instruments ICs, with efficient buck-boost conversion and proper USB-C PD power negotiation for up to 100W bidirectional operation. The design will include battery protection, thermal management, current monitoring, connectors for the LilyGO ESP32-S3, and a practical BOM using readily available components. This project is very similar to my previous works. I have experience designing battery-powered electronics, USB-C power systems, DC-DC converters, and compact power PCBs. I understand the importance of efficiency, thermal performance, protection, and production-ready documentation. The most important skill is power-path and USB-C PD design. I will carefully calculate voltage/current limits, losses, thermal margins, and charging/discharging conditions while keeping the BOM reasonable. Via private chatting or meeting, I will provide the creative idea and good tech solution for your project. Best regards. Maksym

Hi, Building a 100W bidirectional power bank is a great project, but getting the thermals and PD negotiation right is the real challenge. I think the best path here is using a reliable TI buck-boost topology (like the BQ25720) paired with a dedicated PD controller (TPS65987D). This setup is efficient, handles the 5V–20V profile seamlessly, and keeps your BOM costs manageable. For the ESP32-S3 integration, I’ll focus on clean I2C mapping so you get accurate real-time telemetry—fuel gauging, thermal stats, and VBUS status—without cluttering the main power path. I’ve handled plenty of board layouts where EMC and thermal dissipation were critical, so we’ll design the copper pours and thermal vias to make sure it passes UN 38.3 and CE/FCC without needing a redesign. I’ll provide the full schematic, 4-layer layout, sourced BOM, and the thermal analysis you need. Before we jump into the schematics, I’d like to clarify a couple of design directions: Are you planning on a 3S or 4S battery configuration? Also, how do you want the device to behave when multiple ports are loaded? Setting the priority logic (e.g., locking the 100W port vs. splitting power) is something we should define early on. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
