Coders, this is an entirely new website that will ask you to use your creative imagination to make a powerful, fun and easy to use website.
I am asking for a site that will be interactive, somewhat entertaining and 100% informative and easy to use.
The content contributors for the site will use Macromedia Contribute2. They will need to access a secure area (authenticated user), so they can add and delete content that will be available to all users (public). They will also have access to creating and modifying their own business profile.
There will also be a bulletin board so that clients can send and receive messages that are not viewable by the public but are viewable only to members (login users).
I want a clickable map of the county created so that when an area is selected something unique happens...what that is left up to you, although I have ideas.
I want a search component.
I want current weather and forecast.
I want a person of the week page that displays images that are rotated out weekly.
I want this site to look like it is thinking and acting along with the user.
In addition to the map required above, I want a map of this city created (does not have to be exact but close) that shows our members businesses, streets and general directions to the city. When a business is clicked upon I want for that business' website to be displayed, if they do not have a website, then I want a window to open so that pertinent information is displayed. This component must be modifiable using either a database or through Dreamweaver or (you?) so that as businesses join, build websites or are removed, updates take a very little time.
I will need an administrative console to manage user login information, usage data, and to display hits and display usage from members as well as the public.
The future here is that as the businesses come online with their web sites, I want this 'parent' website to communicate with the relevant aspects of their sites to draw information (yet to be decided what info)
into the 'parent' site and so that it can be displayed.
Much of this data must come from a database for ease of maintainence and use.
I will ask for fly-out menus and semi-transparent transparent areas that give this site an extra special look.
As you can tell this is a complex project with many characteristics. If you are not a strong, knowledgeable team of coders then do not bid on this project. I want a creative team of people who are willing to make a super-website that looks special, feels good (!) and is easy to understand, to navigate, load and is coss-browser friendly (IE 5, NS 6). I want flash in the right places to catch the attention of the user. I want the best damn website in this area.
Additionally I will want to have regular rotating advertising spaces.
I want city events calendar where the user can select the month, year or day and find out what is happening in my town.
There is more to add, I am sure that you will have ideas also. This is not a one time project but one where I will ask for changes to be made regularly as needed. I want dedicated, integral website coders who know how to complete this project in a reasonable time and who take pride in their work
I have many other websites that must be built and they must be able to communicate with the parent site.
You may use whatever tools and templates you need to build this site as long some aspects can be WYSIWYG updated by using Macromedia Contribute2.
All of the aspects of this website are not in yet so please bid a little high so we have a buffer with the cost. There are still some areas that need to be discussed.
