Build Adobe Illustrator Plug-in: 2D Print File To 3D User Facing Image

Project Goal: To create a tool that allows for our graphic design team to complete artwork on 2D print ready artwork, and then for it to output to a customer facing 3D looking image in shopify. Project Description: .The artist should be able to work on a 2D print file in svg, vector, psd, or ai format that then converts into a 3D customer facing 3D image that automatically is output to shopify based on the product name. Once the order is placed for that particular product, the 2D print file should be stored along with all of the order information in a database so that it can be easily emailed or sent to our production team. The 2D file must scale across all product size variants. Our current state process: Artist reads the customer request for design. The artist then takes a photoshop template and changes the template accordingly to match the customers request. Graphic design team uploads the product images in png format to shopify based on team name. Customer receives custom team store link (example: [login to view URL]) After an order is placed, we export orders, and send 3D images to manufacturing. Manufacturing team then has to recreate 3D designs on 2D print files for production which takes time and causes manual error. The goal is to create a completely unique team store for the organization without . Future state process: We want to remove the manual work of redesigning from 3D to 2D to reduce error. We need to create a system that allows our artists to work on the 2D templates, generate a 3D customer facing image, then when an order is placed the 2D image then needs to be have graphics scaled according to size, and the order information with print ready files needs to be stored so that it can easily be sent to production. THE PRODUCT SHOULD LOOK VERY MUCH LIKE THIS: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] High Level Overview: Have 2D templates automatically scale artwork across all sizes when artwork is complete. Once artwork is complete, 2D template must transform into a customer facing image that has the appearance of 3D. Second half of the project Product image is then automatically uploaded into shopify with team name. Once product is purchased, order information (including size, order number, qr code that contains customer information) is sent to database where we can easily send order information to production team & machines. Technical Implementation: Determine how 2D svg files can generate 3D “looking” png file. Artwork from 2D svg files must be mapped accordingly in 3D looking image. When 2D files are edited in 1 size varient (medium), artwork is automatically adjusted/scaled across all size variants. 2D print ready file must save all size variants and 3D customer facing image. Orders must be sent to an outside database with correct artwork so that they can be sent to production in bulk.
