I have existing code on an Android project that needs to be enhanced with OCR scanning capabilities to read alphanumeric characters in English. No need to read pages of text - simply a max of 16 characters where the camera is focused. The app would be running on an Android device with a HD camera. the device runs Android 6.0. The Android device has navigation controls through buttons and a touchpad and comes with its own SDK that needs to be integrated in Android Studio project. Most of the UI and navigation is working but some fixes are needed. Existing Android project code will be provided. Currently the scanned in field is hardcoded, which will need to be replaced by the content from the actual OCR scan. I have tried the Tesseract library (tess-two) and the scanning is completely garbled reading from a paper or computer screen. If you have successful verifiable experience working with Microsoft Computer Vision API of Google Vision API for OCR for the Android platform please submit your interest for this project.
