Hi, as a database specialist, master and trainer for the past 12+ years I know I am best suited to helping you get this project completed. I have experience with many different platforms and many different industries. With regards to your project, please consider the following: - MySQL by it self cannot process reports. It can only process queries to get information for reports - By default MySQL has a bit of a tricky import and export process - MySQL does not really support user based permission roles unless you are working directly with the database all the time, and even then the functionality is limited. However, this is what I suggest and how I would develop a system for your needs: - Firstly, build the database with the required table structures and design elements - As part of the table structure add 1 or 2 additional tables into the system. These tables will be a 'Users' table, and an 'Audit' table - The users table will allow me to create users and assign certain 'privileges' while the audit table, if you want to include it, would allow me to see what users are actually doing if you are concerned with that. - With the database built, the next part will be an interface or front end. Here I would suggest something like Microsoft Access for the front end. - Microsoft access can be used to develop the simple and complex queries, handle all the imports and exports and assign and revoke privileges plus copy to another user with no issues what so ever.
