I need the text pulled from one or more PDF files and returned as straight-forward .txt documents. What matters most to me is that paragraph breaks and any bullet or numbered lists survive the journey intact; I do not need images, tables, fonts, or any other layout elements. Feel free to rely on Python ([login to view URL], PyPDF2, Tika, etc.), Adobe tools, or another reliable method—as long as the final files open as clean, human-readable plain text with the original paragraph flow and list hierarchy clearly visible. Deliverables • One plain-text file per PDF provided, encoded in UTF-8 • All paragraphs separated by single blank lines; lists reproduced with their bullets or numbers • A brief note on the tool or script you used so I can replicate the process if needed I will supply the PDFs as soon as we start. If your output mirrors the source paragraphs and lists without missing or garbling characters, I will consider the job complete and release payment immediately.

Dear Client, I read "PDF Text Extraction with Structure" carefully and understand you want a job portal that connects employers and candidates effectively. My hands-on experience with C Programming, Python, C++ Programming aligns directly with what you need. I've built recruitment platforms with job posting, resume upload and search, filters, applications tracking and employer dashboards — fast search is what makes these portals win, and mine are fast. A few quick questions to get us started: 1. Will employers post jobs directly, or will admins manage listings? 2. How will it earn — featured jobs, resume database access, subscriptions? 3. Which region/industry are you targeting first? Thanks & Regards, Deepak

Hi, I'd write a small Python script (PyMuPDF) that rebuilds the paragraphs from the text blocks: wrapped lines joined back, hyphenated words fixed, bullets and numbering kept with their indentation. One UTF-8 .txt per PDF, single blank line between paragraphs. Then I check each output against its PDF so nothing is missing or garbled. You also get the script with a short README so you can rerun it yourself. How many PDFs are there, and are they all text-based or are some scanned? Greg

Hi, Albert here, from Philippines. What matters most in handling your PDF text extraction with structure is accurate data you can use right away without fixing it. I'm a data entry specialist. I work with Python and Data Processing. For your PDF text extraction with structure, the real challenge is accuracy across every page. A common issue: relying on automatic conversion without a check, so errors slip through unnoticed. My plan: first, agree the template, formats and rules for unclear entries. Then, enter the data in batches, marking anything unreadable. Finally, check each batch against the source before delivery. I've done data entry work before, so I check early for misread numbers and inconsistent formats. A few questions to better understand the scope: 1. Do some pages have tables or handwritten notes? Those need the most care, so I do them first and flag doubts. 2. Keep the source layout exactly, without cleanup? I'd recommend exact first, cleanup can be a separate pass. 3. What will the data be used for afterwards? That tells me which fields need the most care, like totals or names. I can start right away. Happy to go over the details here in chat and suggest the best approach. Looking forward to hearing from you, Albert

I’d handle this with a small Python-based extraction workflow rather than manually copying the PDFs. For each file I’ll extract the text in reading order, preserve paragraph separation and bullet/numbered-list hierarchy, normalise the output to UTF-8, and run a validation pass for missing or garbled characters before delivery. My background is in Python automation and data processing, so I can also provide the short replication note you requested explaining the library/script and workflow used. I can start immediately. I’d just like to confirm the number of PDFs and approximate page count before finalising the turnaround, since the listing currently says “one or more PDFs.”

List markers in a lot of PDFs are just drawn glyphs with manual indents, so a clean word dump can still flatten hierarchy or glue two items into one paragraph. The constraint I will hold to is your single blank line between paragraphs, with each list marker left in place rather than stripped. Do any of the files use multiple columns or repeating headers that would break reading order?

Hi, this is a good fit for a small Python script, and I can show you the result on one of your files before you commit to the rest. How I'd handle the structure, since that's the part plain extractors get wrong: - read the words with their positions (pdfplumber / PyMuPDF), so paragraph breaks come from the real vertical gaps and indents, not from every line end - join hyphenated line breaks and drop repeated headers, footers and page numbers - detect bullets and numbering (•, -, 1., a), i.) and keep the nesting with indentation in the .txt - UTF-8 output with one blank line between paragraphs, checked against the source for missing or broken characters (ligatures like fi/fl, smart quotes) You get one .txt per PDF, the script, and a short note on how to run it yourself. Proof first: send me one PDF and I'll return its .txt so you can judge the paragraphs and lists. This account has three completed projects, all rated 5 out of 5, delivered on time and on budget. One question: are any of the PDFs scanned images rather than text? Those need OCR, which I can add. Petro Pankov, BotCraft Group

Bullets are where plain-text extraction goes wrong without a sound. In PDFs made from Word, a bullet is often drawn in the Symbol or Wingdings font, so what comes out isn't a bullet at all. Symbol bullets turn into a private-use character that shows as an empty box in a .txt, and Wingdings ones into plain letters, a q or a v at the start of the line. The list looks fine in the PDF and reads as stray letters in your file. So the script checks the font of the first glyph on each line, and known bullet glyphs become a clean marker. Nesting comes from where each bullet sits on the page: every indent level the document uses becomes one step of indentation in the .txt. Numbers stay exactly as printed, 1., a) or iv., and paragraphs are rebuilt from line spacing, not line endings, with one blank line between them. Python with PyMuPDF, which reports each glyph's font and position. You get one UTF-8 .txt per PDF, plus the script and a short note on rerunning it. Before delivery, the words in each .txt are compared with the PDF's, so nothing is dropped or doubled. Background: Python data pipelines, document AI and OCR work. My rating here is 5 out of 5. Should bullets keep the symbol the PDF shows, or become a plain dash at every level, with indentation showing depth? Ronak

Hey, I can handle this easily. I’ve completed PDF text extraction work 17 times, including a similar job recently. Do you need the .txt files to preserve page breaks, tables, or reading order? That affects how I extract and format the text, especially for complex layouts. I’ll return straightforward .txt documents with the text pulled from your PDF files. How I would run it: 1. Check the PDFs to see whether they contain selectable text or scanned pages. 2. Extract the text and clean up unwanted spacing and line breaks. 3. Handover: provide the finished .txt files, one for each PDF. For scanned pages, I’ll use OCR; for text-based PDFs, I’ll extract directly and check the reading order. This kind of document-processing work is familiar territory, and I’ll make sure the output is easy to read. How many PDFs do you have, and can you share a sample? Aakash P.S. I recently handled a similar PDF-to-text task. Just send a "Message" so we can talk :)

You get clean .txt files where paragraph breaks and numbered or bullet list hierarchy survive exactly as they appear in your PDFs, ready to open and read without any layout noise. This fits the Sheets and Data Cleanup package at ₹13,038, which covers the extraction, structure preservation, and a light Apps Script to batch process additional files if needed. The method is schema-first cleanup: structure is mapped before extraction so paragraph flow and list levels are locked in, not guessed after. Send me one sample PDF and the rough file count so I can confirm delivery within 24 hours.

Hi, this is a well-defined task and I can deliver exactly what you describe: one clean UTF-8 .txt per PDF, paragraphs separated by single blank lines, bullets and numbered lists preserved with their hierarchy. My approach: - Extract text with layout-aware Python tools (pdfplumber / PyMuPDF), grouping lines into real paragraphs instead of copying raw line breaks - Detect bullet and numbered lists and keep their markers and indentation - Fix common extraction issues: words split by hyphenation at line ends, ligatures (fi, fl), stray headers/footers and page numbers - Check every output file against the source before delivery You'll receive the .txt files plus the Python script and a short README explaining how to run it, so you can repeat the process yourself on new PDFs. Two quick questions so I can confirm the timeline: 1. Roughly how many PDFs, and how many pages in total? 2. Are they digital PDFs or scanned images? Scanned files need an OCR step, which I can add. Happy to process one of your PDFs first so you can check the output quality before we go further.

You want plain UTF-8 text files from your PDFs, with paragraph breaks and bullet or numbered lists kept intact. The hard part is that PDFs store paragraphs and lists as loose lines: I rebuild them with spacing rules and spot-check each output against its source page. Proof: tested examples on our GitHub (python-automation-examples): CSV clean-up to Excel, REST sync, release packager. Plan: test on 2-3 of your real PDFs, build it with a log, hand over the text files, the script and a how-to. Fixed price: INR 13,000 for up to 20 PDFs, 2 days. Are the PDFs text-based or scanned images? Scans need OCR and more time. AI-assisted; I review and test every result. Tim, Off the Clock Software
