Job: The following job was given to a programmer who said it would take 2 or 3 days. Three weeks later, it still is not completed. At one time, most of the coding was completed. I do not know how much of the code is still in place.
Existing Site: [login to view URL]
Platform: WordPress and Elementor
Primary intent: To show a video.
When a URL is entered on the web, a unique landing page opens with a video. In time, there could be thousands of unique URLs, each with its own landing page and video. Need to record how many seconds each video was played (before ending or being turned off) and the information entered (if any) on the landing page, in its own section of the database.
First Page: [login to view URL]
This is the example of a landing page a viewer would see when then have entered a unique URL. The video source is self hosting but could later be vimeo. When a viewer enters a URL such as [login to view URL] a landing page will be shown with a video. Each unique URL will have many viewers. The amount of time the video played before either ending or being turned off, needs to be recorded. If a viewer enter information, it needs to be recorded for later presentation. Each URL is to have it’s data recorded separately. Set the Yes/No responses so that they can only be pushed once, and so that both Yes and No cannot be pushed. Store the response, if any, in the database. Also, if they enter an E-Mail address, an E-Book needs to be sent to the viewer’s email address. The E-book was incorrectly hard coded into the program, making it very difficult to change. What was wanted was to load file via Advance > File Manager > + Public_HTML > Upload. When the email is opened, I want the E-Book file to automatically open for the email viewer.
The system needs to be able to recognize when a Landing Page Video has started to play and detect what the URL is. It also needs to be able to handle multiply URL playing at the same time.
Second Page: [login to view URL] (This page is working correctly.)
This is the security gateway to the Statistical page. A URL needs to be entered, such as [login to view URL] The password is to be very simple. Such as 3045925x. The first two digits, the 30, and the last three digits, 25x will always be the same. The middle digits, 459 are the URL extension, 95-4 in reverse. When the correct password is entered and the “Enter” button is pressed, the Statistics page opens.
Third Page: [login to view URL]
This is the presentation page of the data collected from the landing page. The URL entered on the Second Page, the Data Page, determines what information is to be displayed. The URL is displayed at the top of the page (Is working), along with the number of times the URL has been viewed and the date the URL was first viewed.
Percentage of time the video has been watched is to be calculated. The longest time watched will be considered the total length of the video. For example, if the longest time a video was watched was 110 seconds, then it is assumed that the video is 110 seconds long. Each viewing time would be compared to the total length, in this example, 110 seconds and placed into their respected category. If a video was watched for 50 second, it would be added to the 41% to 60% group and the total displayed. There is only one Statistical page and it is to be filled out based on the stored data for all viewing of a specified URL.
From the “Click for contributed Email list,” all the collected emails for a given URL are to be shown and printable when the link is clicked.
Under the “Comments Left” box, list all the comments left from the Landing page for the given URL.
Everything displayed on the Statistics page is the data collected for only one URL, dependent on what URL was entered in the Data page.
Hopefully, the provided program and these instructions provide a clear picture of what is needed. Any questions – please ask.
