Nagios Core - Setup & Configuration
What we need is the basic structure of Nagios setup. Currently we have Fully Automated Nagios (FAN) setup and online. We're looking to have the device structure mimic that of our current Zenoss monitoring server. You'll only be responsible for adding one or two devices to each list before showing us how to add them ourselves. You do not need to add every single piece of equipment for us.
We're looking to configure notifications, escalations, etc. What additional services, plug-ins, or templates do you think we need?
Example of groups;
Routers
Switches
Radios
Cameras
Servers
Product manufacturers we use:
Mikrotik / Cisco Routers
-bandwidth usage
-cpu
-ram
Cambium
Motorola
Ubiquity
Linux & Windows Servers
Upon successful completion we will want other work done on the system as well like adding in windows monitoring, more reporting and other items you might recommend.
I want to discuss this project with you further, let me know the best suitable time for you to schedule the meeting, Feel free to message me at any time, i used to be online 14 hrs in a day on this website so probably you will get a quick response from my end.

Hello,
I'm Shijo V Jose a Linux server administrator with three plus years of experience. During my career as a server administrator I've worked in a hosting support company and hence I've worked with number of hosting companies to provide support to there customers.
I'm having better and keen experience in shared hosting,VPS hosting and dedicated hosting environments. As cPanel and Plesk are the worlds most popular control panels I'm also having excellent experience in both cPanel and Plesk.
To be a successful server administrator we need both technical and customer handling skills and I'm sure that I'm having both of these qualities. And time zone is not a problem for a hard-working admin like me.
During my career as a server administrator I've to face different kinds of issues and this makes me more powerful and experienced. Experience is not the years a admin who worked but it is the different kinds of issues which is handled by an admin.
I'm having good knowledge in CMS's and very good knowledge in WP. I've handled thousands of website migrations as this was a common task in the hosting field. And I'm familer with different registrar panels like godaddy and hostgator.
Thanks
Setting up and configuring nagios is my daily Job. I can set up the server and add the clients to the server with ease and I have good knowledge in it. I am new to this site hence I don't have no rating and hence money is not a criteria for me. Looking forward to work with you. Please contact me for any further information.
I have over 20 years experience in IT and currently contract to EE in the UK. I work within routing, switching and security. I have recently setup both NAGIOS and Solarwinds within the EE network and I am very comfortable in both environments.
Within your groups you will need to work out the base thresholds prior to setting notifications, escalations etc. Do you know your thresholds (interface/errors/bandwidth/Environment)?
I presume you are using SNMP to query your objects withing NAGIOS? If you need to understand packet level information I would recommend the Netflow plug in, both Mikrotic and Cisco have support for Netflow within NAGIOS.
I look forward to hearing from you.
