I use a Google Sheets file to track my restaurants daily sales, expenses, and labor goals. Each day is on it's own tab. I am looking for some assistance in creating the new tabs and ultimately the a new file for each month. Each daily tab has a column giving me month-to-date information, and there is some information that I don't want the employees to be able to access (pay rates), formulas, so there is protection on each sheet as well. Currently, I create a duplicate of the previous day's tab, rename the tab (ie. June 4), protect the sheet except a group of ranges, then to keep the running mtd total, I change the formulas in that column to reference the previous days tab and add today's information. Seems like this is something that a script may be able to handle, but I don't have the time to research and write it. I saved the file in Excel just to be able to upload an example, but I plan on using Google Sheets. I have an alternative if this is too time consuming considering my budget, but this is my preferred method.

Hello Richard Eckman, I have gone through your entire excel sheet and the Google Docs sheet. I do not say that you did is wrong, but it took me some time to digest every information. I would like to discuss it in more details so that we can come up with a better solution. I would suggest moving on from Excel to a cloud-based integrated complete accounting solution for small businesses, such as QuickBooks or MYOB. A mere $30 to $50 monthly costs literally takes away your effort and I can be your daily manager updating the sheets in real time.
