For what you comment it is something that can be done in a couple of hours, depending on how long is your database. You must understand that many features, methods and coding is contantly changed, and especially with one major update to another. There should not be any problem since Joomla 2.5 is almost fully compatible with 3.x, but in some cases you got to download/buy the template again, for fully compatibility with the newer version.
