Seeking an experienced web developer to test our PHP developed marketplace. A good understanding of HTML / CSS and Java Script will be required to provide additional technical details (if relevant) to the issues/bugs which enable our developers to quickly fix them.
In terms of website testing, we are interested in the following:
Conduct unscripted functionality testing - Ensure that the website works first time, every time. Functionality in terms of the four user types of the marketplace - customer experience, supplier experience, affiliate experience and ensuring the administrator dashboard functions correctly.
Conduct unscripted compatibility testing - We need the website and all its components to work correctly for the widest possible audience. We need to test against a wide range of devices, operating systems and browsers. We estimate +70% of our users will view the site from a mobile device.
Performance Testing - How long do the pages take to load and what happens when they crash? Need to highlight any performance issues and provide suggestions for improvements. We need some stress testing to ensure the site does not crash.
Technical SEO - Make sure the website is structured correctly to make maximum use of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
Content testing - spelling checks.
Deliverable:
Note and document all issues/bugs encountered. The level of detail may vary (depending on the bug) however normally bugs reported will contain at least the following:
description of the bug and severity
the environment (OS / Browser / Device etc.)
date raised and by whom
a screen shot with the bug clearly highlighted
the impact of the bug (the problem it is causing)
clear and detailed steps on how to reproduce it
any useful or relevant supporting information (such a Java Script details etc.).
This will enable our developer to start work on fixing the bugs as soon as they are raised and the level of detail will provide enough information in a clear and concise way for our developers to fix it.
To be considered for this project, please submit a well thought-out proposal, noting your testing approach with timelines, and highlight your experience in respect to the above.
