Work on reciprocal link script

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Only bid if you are a full time programmer no part timers please! You must have some knowledge or experience with remote link checking scripts. Your English must be excellent as this is not a simple script. You must be contactable by Yahoo messenger because you WILL have questions for us. You must be able to work to your own deadlines we are tired of programmers saying they will complete a job in 7 days and taking a month. Please be sensible with your bids, the successful programmer will be awarded all future modifications and development of the script. Payment will be via Paypal 25% up front and the rest on completion. Full details of job provided in attatched text file. we have set up a test installation on a test domain for you to work on. We will need to fully test all work during and after completion. Work must be done on our test server. We are an established company our programmer has just taken on a full time position therefore we are looking for someone to take over development for us. You can be sure you will be paid promptly for your work. This is work on our own reciprocal link script. Work required as follows: CATEGORY ORDERING ISSUE Within the admin panel of the script as a user adds or removes categories or sub categories they can choose to order them in one of two ways. 1. Alphabetically (this works fine) 2. Re order by number (this does not number correctly) Eg main cats would appear like this 0 Car sites 1 Dating sites 2 E-commerce 3 Sports The idea was if they changed the number of the sports category to 1 it would be placed where dating sites is now and all the other cats would be re-numbered accordingly. We would like this changing to be more simple with just the list of categories and simple up or down arrows next to each category for ordering. Eg. If I wanted to display the Sports category before the E-commerce category I would click the up arrow next to sports and the list would appear as follows: Car sites Dating sites Sports E-commerce So basically the numbering would be removed and replaced with simple move category up or down arrows. Then if a new category were created it would simply be placed alphabetically in the list unless they moved it. APPROVE LINK PAGE EDIT When another site adds their link to the script it is marked in admin to await approval or denial. Currently the script does not show which category the link has been placed in and it needs to. LINKS IN CATEGORY NUMBERING The script has an option to show how many links are in each category or sub category. We have had complaints that this is not accurate. EG if there is this category and sub cat structure here is how it should show Cars (5) ---Blue Cars (2) ---Green Cars (3) These additions need correcting as they can be innacurate. REMOVE NEED FOR REGISTRATION This is the biggest alteration needed. Currently for a webmaster to add a link they first have to register as a link partner, then confirm their email address, then log in to add edit or remove links. We want this removing and simplifying to the following. Webmaster fills the add link form with all the relevant details. Within that form there will be a simple "Enter a password to edit your link" Then on main links pages under links there will be a text link "Edit" when clicked the script will ask for the password associated with the link before allowing edit. MODIFACTIONS TO LOOK AND FEEL SECTION From admin script user can edit the look and feel of the site. This is currenlty done in a header and footer section. However users have complained of not being able to format their pages how they want. Instead of edit header and edit footer we single want a single window with all info. In that edit template window where the dynamic content is created it will simply have a tag like this. {content} This will give users total freedom in skinning our script to fit their sites look and feel. LINK CHECK FUNCTION IMPROVEMENTS The link check function is 95% accurate but can struggle sometimes finding links on .[login to view URL] domains. Currently in the admin of the script the owner specifies their main link back url for checking. They can also specify other acceptable urls. Eg their url with or without a traling slash, their url with or without the www. We feel they should not have to do that. Another issue is some other link scripts create funky html EG our script searches for link These other scripts can generate links like link Our script can struggle finding links in that format. Ideally we would like the owner to simply input their "link to" url in the admin of the sript, then when the script runs link check it just looks for [login to view URL] and checks that it is proceeded somewhere with the "a href" tag This way if the link partner puts any of the following in their links page the link would be returned as valid link link link link link (this will allow link partners to link to specific pages if they wish) link link
