Profile based website, Faceparty clone...

Hello! I am currently a student at university (UK) and do a bit of web designing. Currently I know some basic PHP however I am now at the point of wanting to do some websites which are a bit more detailed and complex than I can manage on my own. I have a number of ideas which I want to do and work on so anyone that I work with I will be interested in working further with!! I am planning on starting a type of profile website, for a similar type of idea of what I am looking for please take a look at faceparty.com. Obviously it will not be as big or have has much features, however I like the look and feel of that site. Basically it will be a profile site where members can join up, browse other members, search members, message each other and hopefully have a chat function or something like that on the site. There is also some other unique features I would like to add to this, please pm me and I will email you a more detailed description and you can give me your comments etc. I do not mind what scripting language you want to work with, I would prefer php as I know a little, however the choice is up to you.
