The goal of this job is to develop an additional webpage for an existing django html site which is hosted on an AWS. We have made an existing python script that can perform the backend functions. The webpage will look like the attached image it will allow users to upload documents from their computer or google drive to the site. The user can organize and store the uploaded documents in different collections. A collection is like a folder, and each collection holds one or more documents. A collection can also hold one more different collections as well.
In addition, I currently have a python script that takes documements such as PDF and embeds them in an AWS OpenSearch server. The current script can then search for query's and answer questions about the database.
For this project, users can select which document or collections tool they want add into the OpenSearch AWS server using the "Selections tool" (or by clicking and dragging a file from the library into the document pool in the center of the page. When a document is added, it will appear in the "document pool". If the document has not been embedded yet, it will appear as grey. If the document has been embedded, and is searchable, it will appear with full color.
If a user wants to embed the greyed-out documents, they can click the "read" button which will activate the current embedding function on the python script. After the script finishes reading (which can take some time), all of the documents in the document pool will be in full color.
At any point (provided there is at least one non grey document in the document pool), a user can enter in a query in the search bar which will be entered into the current "query" function of our python script.
The script is able to display answers and snippets of the documents that it used to get this result. The UI will display these results.
Strong candidates will be able to seamlessly integrate the new code into the current site. (I will provide the code to candidates who demonstrate they can do the job).
There is a hard 7 day deadline for the initial prototype to be integrated into the website, and a 14 day deadline for the delivery of the final project.
