Fix Psyco for Python to work with Mac OS X

The Psyco Python module (which massively speeds up Python code by optimizing it) does not work properly under the latest update for Intel Mac OS X 10.4.8.

We have a 10,000+ line python program that needs a dramatic speed increase, but python crashes whenever we attempt to use the Psyco module.

On the Psyco website ([url removed, login to view]) the creator of Psyco has posted a message (see [url removed, login to view])

about why it fails to run properly on Intel macs running Mac OS X.

We are willing to pay to have psyco fixed. Also, we intend to send the fix to the creator so that he can post it on his website.

We will consider this project complete if we can run psyco against our 10,000+ line program (telling it to optimize all code or to profile code selectively) and have it speed up our code significantly without crashing or causing incorrect output. In the past we have seen very significant speed increases using psyco on the same code.
