However, if it's possible, i'd like to not use R for this project- i had that in an university course and much prefered MatLab. I'm a little unsure of what you mean by "price indexes" -- I take it that you want to use the weighting column as a multiplier for the price column, and then sort on that product. Or, if it's not a straight multiplication, that there is some quite simple function that combines the price with the weighting. I'm also assuming that the weighting tables are CSV files. I'll use python3 + pandas + pandas' read_csv function. This sounds like a very short project, but I'll be away on holidays on Thursday 7th - Sunday 11th, so if it's awarded today or tomorrow I'll finish it before I leave; otherwise, I'll sort it out on Monday next week.
