Reading Data from an Excel using Python

I have a multi worksheets in a excel file. Workbook A has data in Column(A-E). Column E has value which is name of other worksheets of the same file.
I am looking for a small code to search from column B of worksheet(A) based on the input criteria. Once match is received then Column D to be returned as output. Code should identify the best match (in case more than 2-3 rows have matching data). Now if further input is received, then it should look for column B of worksheet whose name is defined in Column E of Worksheet(A).
I want similar code for searching through SQL database with search from one table and based on the match it should search for other tables.
