I would like to approach this problem in two different ways, first I would find vectors for each document finding tf-idf and then after doing dimensionality reduction observe if they are forming seven distinct types of a cluster or not. If these clusters are being formed then we can use any linear or ensemble method to classify them. This approach is easy to implement, cheaper and faster. If the desired result is not achieved through this approach then we can use the deep learning based approach. Recently CNN has been observed to show good results in document classification. We can use a single end to end neural network model with convolutional and pooling layer. I will write two different codes one for training the model and one for actual usage. For the training code, you just have to provide it a labelled data i.e each document should be labelled or stored in a different folder according to there category. The second code, when provided with a document, can classify it to one of the seven categories. I plan to integrate both these codes using python flask. Also we can add an additional feature of displaying the summary of each document that the user puts. You can contact me for more clarifications regarding the model. I am building a machine learning model to do the same task for our PDF documents at the moment (we have about 500k+ documents and 30 different types) I am using Python in my daily work and likely will for this to so I can integrate a web app into the Training/Evaluating requirements you have.
