Our .Net Based Software is using Firebird Database. The users of our software 1st creates Clients Masters and then in each Client Masters there are some transactions / data that belongs to that particular client. We want to implement data backup and restore facility for the selected client only [ i.e. partial backup and not the whole backup ] when we restore the data only clients that were backed up previously should be restored and rest of the data present (if any) will be unchanged. For a Practical use case scenario. Mr. ABC is running the software. The software has data of his clients i.e Mr. A's Data, Mr B's Data and Mr. C's Data. Mr. XYZ is also running the software and has Mr. X's and Mr. Y's Data Now M/s ABC takes the back up of only Mr. B's Data and he wants to restore Mr. B's data in the software of M/s XYZ. After restoring the M/s XYZ software will now show X , Y and B data. In other words Mr. ABC has exported Mr. B data and imported Mr. B data in software of Mr. XYZ

I have overall 5 years experience in SQL databases. By carefully observation on your requirement,we can set up a process where the user can enter for which client the backup need to be taken and restore it to other database . I have more than 10 years of experience with Firebird and there were a lot of tasks involving partial transfer of data from one database to another. Although I would like to know some details about your project. Is there a single Firebird database in which some different Client Masters coexist or are there several databases? If the data of the client B was successfully transferred from the ABC Client Master to the XYZ Client Master, then should the two copies be independent? Or should they be always identical and any new data should replicate back and forth between them?

Hi, First of all I like to know what version of the is this? Older version (eg. 2.1 ore.5) can connect only one dB. In this case my suggestion a stored procedure with some parameters and that can back up the data an another table. The latest FB can connect more than one dB. In this case I would like to write almost the same so but transfer the data an another dB.
