We are a new UK based company that is looking to design / prototype and manufacture a new sports car. The car concept is based on the historic Lotus Seven style of vehicle with a modern retro design twist. An image is attached for reference.
We are looking for a highly talented and experience Mechanical Design Engineer to turn our concept into reality. YOU MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITHIN AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN and a portfolio of works will be required.
We will provide you with 2D photos/images of the vehicle to together with as many CAD files and images of components to be incorporated in the vehicle as we can. We have a CAD file for the chassis already.
We are looking for a full prepared 3D model of the vehicle, together with 2D and 3D assembly / production drawings as require.
Many components on the vehicle will be off the self solutions such as suspension, brakes, lights, seats etc. Individual working drawing of these components will not be required as they are obtainable from the manufactures, however should be represented in the finish design.
DESIGN SOFTWARE
Only Autodesk software may me used such a AutoCAD or 3DS MAX etc. This is so work is compatible with our in-house software.
TIME LIMIT
We would like to make a start in the design work of the project by the beginning of September and have allowed until the end of October (2 Months) to complete. This will not be a full time two month project, however it will allow you to complete other projects and allow us to address any questions you may have in relation to suppliers of components and general specification of the vehicle etc.
LANGUAGE SKILLS & COMMUNICATIONS
Must be able to communicate effectively both spoken and written in English. Some communication via SKYPE will be required to help in the design communication.
ONGOING WORKS
There will be plenty of ongoing work associated with the project and future projects, including the design and development on a new type of Aluminium sandwich chassis design that we are currently working on with a supplier.

REFERENCE DESIGN SOFTWARE:
Designs can be completed in any design software you wish, however must be converted to Autodesk AutoCAD or 3ds MAX format for presentation to us through out the project.
