Detecting bullish and bearish engulfing candles on the 1-minute chart is straightforward. I would write it in Python, with all the rules in one config file (entry, stop, target, position size, filters), plus a backtest on historical 1-minute data so you can see how it behaves before it trades real money. To give you an exact price and time I need to know: - which market and broker or exchange it should trade on - your entry and exit rules after the pattern appears - any filters (trend, volume, trading hours) I will be honest about the backtest results, whatever they show. There will also be quite a bit of lag, due to API -> code -> action all taking time (it's milliseconds mostly, but these add up).

A 1-minute Engulfing on forex, index futures or Indian equities has very different spreads, fees and session gaps, and those decide whether the pattern has any edge after costs. My plan is a Python engine with a tested Engulfing detector (the body fully covers the prior candle's body, with a filter for tiny dojis so it doesn't fire on noise). On top of that goes a 1-minute backtester that charges realistic fees and slippage instead of filling at the close. Optimization uses a walk-forward split, so you're not just picking the luckiest settings from one stretch of data. It then runs on paper against your broker's API before any live money goes near it. M1: detector with unit tests, data loader, backtester with fees and slippage, 13,860 INR, 2 days M2: parameter optimization with walk-forward validation and a results report, 15,000 INR, 3 days M3: automated runner with paper trading on your broker API, logging and risk limits, 13,140 INR, 2 days That's 42,000 INR over 7 days. It's a starting number off the brief, and I'll firm it up once I know which broker API it has to talk to and how much minute history you already have.
