IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY YOU DON'T PAY! RTMP only covers ingest, and browsers can't play it. The server has to repackage each stream to HLS, and that step is where most of the delay comes from. Monetization and one-on-one chat aren't part of RTMP either, so they need a small Node layer that checks stream keys and paid access on publish/play and runs the chat over WebSockets. I'd deliver nginx-rtmp with HLS output, that Node layer, and a test page that shows a live push working end to end before you connect Restream. io. How much viewer delay is acceptable: 3-6 seconds with HLS, or does the chat need near-live, which means WebRTC? Send me a message and I'll explain exactly how I'd approach your project.
