Age Discrimination at Work

Topic: Age - How older people are treated in the workplace. Ex. Older people are fired before they get retirement. Incoming talent sometimes gets paid more than them. DEI - Diversity, Equity, Inclusion I will be giving you most of the data that will go into the webpage. I mostly just need someone to make the website and insert the information. Develop a webpage (made through Wix). (I will provide the log in information once you have been selected) to advocate for an underrepresented group (AGE). Overall, the webpage should contain five primary elements, and there should be a logical flow to the information presented based on the order of the elements below. 1) Home (a) Title of your webpage (b) Include your bio and a personal statement on the benefits of DEI for you. (c) Explain the importance (to you, the group, and organizations) of advocating for the underrepresented group. 2) Background information on the underrepresented group – summary of the content of three reliable sources of information to understand the issues that the underrepresented group faces in the workplace (journal articles, reports, or books). a) Glossary of 10 terms most used to discuss or describe the underrepresented group. b) Present official data, including statistical data about the issues faced by the underrepresented group in the workplace. Display the information in tables or graphs. c) Recommendations of inclusion practices used to address the needs of the underrepresented group, as proposed in the literature. 3) (I will give you that information) Testimonial – interview someone (anonymously or not) who identifies themselves within the underrepresented group or analyze the interview of a personality who identifies within the underrepresented group. The interviewee cannot be a classmate. (a) Describe the interviewee’s background and perspective. (b) Provide direct citations of life-stories in the workplace or job market. (c) Interviewee’s recommendations of accommodation or inclusive practices that might support them at the workplace. 4) Accommodations, practices, and interventions – to support the specific underrepresented group. You can use real data or examples from organizations to provide support for your claims. (a) Present 2 accommodations or practices that can be used by an organization to assist the underrepresented group. (b) Suggest 2 organizational interventions that can support the underrepresented group. (c) Explain how it could be adapted and used in other organizations. 5) Resources library – resources in different formats to help people who belong to the underrepresented group. I will provide the following unless you have suggestions. (a) List three YouTube Videos related to the underrepresented group. (b) List three websites that can provide more information or support. (c) List three books or articles. You can include books of role models or personalities. Overall, the webpage’s evaluation will address four criteria: 1) Elements. The website contains and addresses all required elements effectively. 2) Critical Thinking. Did you simply describe information, or did you reflect, critique ideas, question assumptions, and demonstrate analytical skills? It might include showing deep reflection related to personal experience. 3) Data Collection and Visual Aid. Did you research reliable sources of information? Did you ask thoughtful questions of your interviewee? Did you access public organizational reports? Did you add visual aid to your website? 4) References/Citations/APA. Did you include proper citations and references according to the APA format? Additional information will be given once selected.
