Build an Online Store

There are two logical parts to this project 1. I have a product search engine that is based on Apache Solr back end and the Python Django framework based front end. I now need to migrate that to a Magento based front end . The product data is present in a Apache Solr index that is already set up in a SolrCloud cluster and the front end needs to be implemented in Magento. For this project , I will to implement a very minimalist Magento theme , and integrate Magento with Solr using either Solarium, EPCL , or sorl-php clients, any of those PHP clients would work for me (although I would prefer the one that supports SolrCloud). 2. I also need a new product type to be created because I will not be selling any products but will only be referring users to a third party site , so this will be a custom product type which will not have a shopping cart.
