Directory monitor and detection of bar-coded images
This application monitors a set of user-defined directories, detecting added image files that contain barcode in them. If the new image contains a barcode then the file is moved, and renamed (using the information in the barcode) to another directory, for further processing. The appearance of the barcode is also registered in a log file and a database.

I´m a software and database designer/developer with more than 40 years of experience. For the past 22 years I was full-time employed (in-situ) by two international organizations; IATTC (San Diego, CA, USA), and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (Victoria, Seychelles). In both organizations, I was also the main DBA for the institutional databases (MS-SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL). The past two years, I was the lead developer/designer of the database (MySQL) and APIs (.Net Core) for a startup B2B courier and transportation company (Better Trucks, Inc. - based on Chicago, USA). It means Upwork ranks me at the top 3% of their large pool (12 million) of freelancers for the quality of my work, reliability and knowledge. I don't use this website much, but you also see that I have a great feedback here too ([login to view URL] where I have done similar jobs to yours) I´m not afraid of challenges, and capable of learning and deliver on areas that are out of my confort zone. I have stayed busy, and up-to-date doing freelancing. I have extensive experience with Azure and MS SQL Server (Transact SQL, SSAS, SSIS and SSRS), MS Access, Oracle´s 11g-19c Server (PL/SQL), Firebird, PostgreSQL (16.2), and mySQL, and familiarity with several other DBMSs. I also have expertise in the development of desktop/web applications and services with the .net/.net core frameworks (C# and VB), including MVC/MVVM (WPF and UWP) models (for web/desktop/mobile applications), REST (Web API) and WCF APIs for back-ends, ORM frameworks, such as EF and XPO, and interfacing with third-party APIs such as Google Places/Maps/Firebase, Foursquare, Twilio, AWS/S3, Office365, SendGrid, etc. For the past 10 years, most of my development has been done with .NET Core, so I´m very familiar with this subset of this .NET framework. I´m well versed in developing MS Office add-ins (particularly for Excel, MS-Access and Outlook), and feel home developing applications with VBA for those components of Office (especially for MS-Access and Outlook). Additionally, I´m fluent in Delphi, C and C++, and have familiarity with autofac (dependency injection) and automapper (object mapping). I´m comfortable with several front-end frameworks, including Bootstrap, Angular and Vue.js. I´m also familiar with Azure and Google cloud-based functionality and microservices, including cloud functions, scheduled jobs, messaging frameworks (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, and MSMQ) and Kubernetes & Docker deployments. Regarding CD/CI system, I can setup pipelines with TFS and DevOps (Azure), besides, of course, the use of standard Git-based repos, such as bitbucket, github, etc. I´m a Spanish citizen, currently located in Spain (Madrid Community).
