New to this online platform, so thank you for reading my profile.
My background: I am an ESL teacher and communications coach in Japan with over 25 years' experience helping people express themselves clearly and accurately, applied to various written works such as Power Point presentations, narrative works, CVs, marketing promotions, and more. My students and clients are diverse: medicine, government, finance, businesses of many types.
I have also worked in recruitment, where resume revisions were a daily activity! You might be surprised how often I have seen 'manger' instead of 'manager', and 'martial' where 'marital' was intended!
I have a quick eye for such spelling mistakes, and try always to make my work reflect the intent of the client. Grammar? Punctuation? Correcting errors is my daily bread and butter -- plus, I've got proofreading certification via online courses.
Regarding my voice (there are samples attached), I have a fairly neutral American accent, coming from western Canada. I am interested in expanding my narration, instruction, and news reading work. YouTube projects are welcome!
As a Canadian, I'm most familiar with standard American (U.S.) English, though aware of British spelling conventions. My language is best suited to those interested in American English, therefore. And, to any Japanese clients interested in my services, you can be sure that I know the typical errors with Japanese-English translations very well!
