Value Stream Mapping/Design is probably one of the most underutilized tool in Lean implementation. Many organizations end up with more of 'brainstorming' exercise to use the lean tools and reduce waste. Which Kaizens are really necessary to bring your value stream to the next level of lean maturity and to reach your overall business targets? How do we set realistic, and more important, relevant targets for our Kaizen improvements (how much set-up reduction, on which equipment, how big should the Kanban supermarket and the FIFO lanes be, how much reliability improvement is needed on which process? ....etc) That's where I come in. Like Lean manufacturing expert I'm the PATHFINDER for the whole organization and make them to see the process or service as a whole. I've worked very close with all departments from local production Site and worldwide ones being responsible for implementation of different Lean tools -Manpower utilization, Lost time Management, Operations routines.
